Horrible value but at least the price is quite affordable.

What makes its horrible value for $20 a year?

You basically get online multiplayer for it, and that's it. Online multiplayer is universally free on PC (excluding some MMOs), and for the most part, it's been free on consoles too until recently. It basically shows there's very little need to charge anything for online multiplayer. The actual amount required for multiplayer upkeep is probably much, much less than this. This exists only for increasing profits without offering anything of value in return to customers.

Is it possible the NES Virtual Console has become a $20/yr sub?

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Well this is all good news compared to the worst case scenario I had imagined a few months ago.

I could see myself buying only a month at a time here and there although $20 is low enough that I may not feel the need to.

Well so much for them changing their mind about paid online like some had hoped, but atleast the price is on the low end, that was the best we could ask for.

I can accept this price if ARMS and Splatoon 2 are as good as they look.  Also, we'll apparently have at least the rest of 2017 to find out.

The online for classic games could be sweet.

This kind of feels like nothing new was revealed other than a confirmation for a price we already knew. Have we learned anything new at all?

Did you not see Slarvax post?

It didn't load for me until you quoted me. Good developement I guess, though it really means nothing until we know how extensive it is. What does "classic" even mean? Is it still only NES/SNES games? Is it only games that can add online functionality, or is this now just how Nintendo is doing VC, now? Does thing mean yet another drip feed of classic games. Will GCN suppoer ever come? What about Wii games - are they back?

We learned that Nintendo themselves apparently have as much of a clue about what they're doing as we do.

Zing.

"At launch the classic game library will include NES games. Super NES games continue to be under consideration, but we have nothing further to announce at this time."

There're my answers.

$20 makes me feel like I'm gonna get a third of what PS+ gives me.

Well, I'd rather pay $20 for just the online than $60 for online and a bunch of other things added on that I don't really care about.
