As a series that has never been on hardware stronger than the Wii, there is certainly a lot of room for improvement.
Probably not as nice as some would want, but probably good enough for me :p

The Switch should stop bragging with its graphical superiority and start making games with actual gameplay.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Can't say I really care that much about graphics in this series. Make it look pretty with some anime cut-scenes, and I'll be happy. Don't spend too much money on CGI cut scenes please, if at all.

Actually, it's not usual for Nintendo to brag about graphics. It's actually rare, so I bet it does look very good indeed. Probably something like this:

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I'm getting the feeling from these comments that 2D is going bye-bye and the gameplay may change, maybe akin to how Square has changed the Final Fantasy RPG gameplay over the years to be more action-oriented.
They're going to try to make Fire Emblem into a larger, Zelda-tier franchise IMO, especially with the success of BotW, that's what it sounds like.
I think this game is going to have a big budget too, it's IS' reward for good sales of the last several installments, now is their shot at making Fire Emblem a top-top-tier IP in the Nintendo stable but to do that it can't remain a "small" game.
