Yeah the roster seems fairly full, although with some odd omissions like Lei. Don't look too much into it, it's just some of the conclusions i saw from reviews, I still have to actually read the reviews to see where the content is lacking and if it actually IS lacking.

Perhaps there is something obvious that's missing that I didn't think of. Just that everything I read sugested a concious effort from Namco to make sure there's enough content.
Hopefully Lei, Anna and the other missing classic characters will be added in due time.

Speaking of modes, one thing I'm looking forward to is the Treasure mode where you unlock customization items. The way the battles are changed to spice things up (like Turbo mode, Turtle mode, weapons, etc) and that loading times inbetween are very short (non-existasnnt if your next opponent is on the same stage) makes it sound like a mode I'll spend some time in. I like to customize my characters.

Sounds like Tekken has taken a few cues from the NetherRealm Studio, the multiverse mode within Injustice 2 is actually fun to play and caused me to spend hours playing it with different buffs, debuffs and just plain crazy settings like turbo or super slow assit characters etc.  Each win gives you the ability to customize your character and change aspect of their special abilities.

Tekken used to be a solid 90%+ game series with higher sales during the 1990s. Button mashing seems to work effectively to win in fighter games like Tekken. The gamer with the fastest reflexes and mashes the buttons faster wins most games. There is no skill in Tekken.

LOL this is hilarious. Yeah go try button mashing against people who actually knows how to play Tekken. Button mashing only works with casuals or people who also button mash. Other than that, you'll most likely end up having all your attacks being countered or you may not even get to attack at all.

As soon as more folks have their hands on the game, the score will go up a bit. I know reviewers get the early copies, but everyone hasn't reviewed the game yet. I'm thinking this will end up being around 86 when it's all said and done.

add me already!!!! aikohualda

i wanna challenge you :P too bad my gal anna is not out yet :(

I'll definitely add you. Guess you'll have to use Nina for the time being until Anna releases, huh?

Yeahh, I heard about that Injustice mode. In Tekken Tag 2, while there was a similar mode (without the adjustments like Turbo, etc), you didn't get a customization item from each fight. The way this is set up sounds as lot more encouraging, and when I'm not in training mode or vs someone, I'll probably be doing this. I see you can do Electric Wind Godfist 8 times in a row on Turbo mode. lol

If its anything like it is in Injustice then yeah you can pull off insane combos pretty much taking a whole bar.  In Injustice, with the turbo and slow mode you can definitely accomplish those sort of combos.  I actually played a mode where both switch up within the same match and created so combo opportunities that were very fun to play with.

I don't see many of improvemnt , innovation over older versions over gameplay on videos. It seems only slightly better textures. I hope I'm mistaken but generally I'm not. Hope to try this and see if Im right. Previous games got me bored, always the same so I'm not very excited about it.

They added new gameplay mechanics and removed the bound system. The new rage drives, rage arts and i forgot what its called but its an offensive move which cannot be disrupted by your enemies attack, you will still take the damage but again your move will still continue and will hit the opponent. You also have the usual changes in many of the moves of the characters plus the addition of new moves and such.

Already bought and pre-loaded on PC. Not sure how soon I want to double dip on PS4 version.... Ehh. Most likely this weekend. Who am I kidding?

If everyone in your play-group button-mashes then sure, the best button-masher will win. Try button-mashing on an experienced player and you'll be thrashed decisively.

That's how it works with any/all fighting games.
