Apple is a way bigger company, good luck Nintendo.

We need to rise up against Apple.

I'm so offended right now!

Us Windows Phone owners are people too!

Do you actually have such a phone??

I thought that the vast majority of Windows Phone owners are people like my mom who got it at a discount.

It shouldn't be a problem. The fact they share common parts ought to lead to greater economies of scale for both Switch and Apple products.

No matter how big Switch gets - Apple still ships more hardware, so the adjustment to fully supply Switch should be minimal.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'm not really sure if I buy what this article is selling, I get that it's a catchy topic header, but lets get some perspective here ... Apple sold 211+ million iPhones last year. And that was a down year for them because they only released a semi-refresh, the year before was over 230 million. That's more iPhones than Sony or Nintendo have sold in consoles the last decade.

So now all of the sudden 18 million Switches is going to push them over the edge for supply parts? lol. What parts do they even share? Is Apple using 720p LCD displays on anything? Nvidia Tegra X1 processors?

If the issue is Toshiba's NAND flash, jeeeezus Nintendo go get some NAND flash from someone else there are like 50 different companies that make token amount of flash RAM.

Even the most optmistic sales forcast would represent less than 2% of WW smartphone and tablet sales.

It is also weird that we all know the Switch doesn´t have any bleading edge component or custom chip. So, why would they need to fight with Apple that builds their own chips?

This seems to be another PR stunt for Nintendo trying to keep the focus on the device, since, it preaty clear there is no rush or fever in the general public for the console.

And the global spin award goes to.........

Dark Feanor for his magistral reversal of a news about parts shortage for the Switch into a conspiracy theory about the public actually not wanting the product at all!

Congratulations, well earned!

I already have a Switch, but want the new iPhone, so I hope Apple wins.

In parts priority of course Apple would be given priority.

They move hardware on a volume that makes both Nintendo and Sony look like little pigeon shits on their windshield. Video game machines are nothing in the grand scheme of things, it's a tiny little hobby compared to the phone market.

Just go get NAND flash from someone else Nintendo, there are like dozens of companies that would like your business.

Which parts could that be? Apart from maybe the display, battery, RAM or flash memory, the Switch has not much in common with an Ipad or Iphone.

Well it's not untrue. Apple sells more iPhones in a month than Nintendo or Playstation sell hardware wise in a full year.
