It seems like Intelligent Systems is interested in creating another entry in their Fire Emblem esc series
(they also make Fire Emblem).

Personally I am very exited to see another game in the series, hopefully Wargroove and yearly Fire Emblem releases can tide me over until they figure out what they want to do.

Is anyone else looking forward to a Advance Wars title on the Switch?

Considering they managed to turn Fire Emblem from a niche series at the brink of death into one of Nintendo's biggest IPs, doing the same for Advance Wars, when it's so similar to FE, couldn't be that hard.

After not getting one on 3DS yet or Wii U (which could have put the Gamepad to great use), yes I am very much looking forward to it. No Advance Wars since Days of Ruin on DS (9 years ago) is a long time. It's a shame too, Days of Ruin saw a nice uptick in sales from Dual Strike (back to GBA Advance Wars sales levels). So, I can't see why the franchise hasn't continued. Since Fire Emblem: Awakening on 3DS saved FE series from being cancelled and lead to an explosion in the series profile and popularity, Advance Wars should have gotten the same chance by now.

Hmm, but Advance Wars does not have the same character quality, each of your units are almost expendable.
I hope they can bring it to the same levels of popularity as Fire Emblem, but without the ability to rely on waifus, husbandos and relationships...

It may pose a challenge.

Well, it's not that easy, or else they'd do it for every franchise. However, there's nothing wrong with trying! Worst case we'd still get a game out of it.
