Considering how dead mario & luigi and paper mario are, im expecting this to revive mario rpgs.

Dead? Er......no, I would not call them dead. F-Zero is dead.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Except not cause it sold over 5 million copies.

So no evidence or data, you're just making a baseless claim to be negative then? Okay then, I'll just let SMO's inevitably great sales put you right. Funny, it's like we've done this before. :L

5 million copies is terrible sales for a NSMB game.

I'm not saying Odyssey won't sell well, but this won't do the company's image any favours by exemplifying one of their worst tendencies, over-milking the Mario IP.

Expecting NSMBU to sell as well as it's Wii/DS counterparts on a 14m installbase is pure insanity.

Everyone already knows Nintendo spams Mario games. Always have and always will, nothing new there.

I didn't say I expected it to sell as well as the Wii/DS versions, but I refuse to believe it wasn't hurt by the "I just bought a NSMB game, don't need/want another one" effect.

And that doesn't mean Nintendo has to feed the stigma. This could've been a straight-up Rabbids game, it didn't need to be a Mario crossover.

Oh it definitely was, that's why I didn't want to get it afterall, but it just wasn't a significant enough factor to keep the game from selling well provided one takes into account the system it's sold on. But anyway this is all irrelevant now, atleast until you spin this discussion back to sales lel.

Stigma to you, but a blessing to most since many many people like Mario, so it's only natural that Nintendo should appease them. Mario is certainly a blessing to this game, as without him people would care far less about it. I would have already written it off as more Rabbid trash, but now I'm forced to hold my judgement because well... I like Mario (and RPGs), so I want his games to be good.

A Rabbids Battle Kingdom could've sold on its own merits without being yet another over-milking of the Mario brand.

I might be wrong but I feel like it might be a Valkyria Chronicles-esque battle system.

Aww, was hoping for a more traditional RPG, but it makes sense since Nintendo believes they can only have one traditional Mario RPG for some reason.

And they picked the wrong one -_-

Cool...

Why though?

So Switch has games obviously.

I highly doubt that, but opinions!

Of course we say that cause we're biased hehe, but even logically PM made more sense as it's the better seller when you take installbase into account.

Oh okay...

...

Why can't it be one people would have wanted though?
