Hey people who have XBox Live please answer this: Is XBox Live worth the purchase? Is it as addictive as people claim it to be? Is it much better than PSN? Will Sony's HOME match XBox Live?

Based on there being 10 million subscribers for XBox Live. halo 3 has a online community of 1.3 million. COD 4 has an online community of 850 000. Gears of War has an online community of 750 000.  Numbers alone say it appears to be an amazing experience to play online.

I have had LIVE for years. I get the cards for $30, so it's a wii bit under $3 per month. I enjoy downloading demos, playing online (when I can) and until last holidays, the stability. Anyone who buys a 360 has LIVE for free, but it's just silver and you can't play online.

Why do I pay for LIVE? I like having a smooth interface to download content, a slick message system, the ability to view gamertags with ease and the ability to download videos and the new features of Major Nelson's Minute and other news.

I have hurled having to navigate PSN. I wish they would just jack LIVE and do something like that.

Yes, Xbox Live is truely an awesome online experience, expecially with GTA4 comming up.

Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are rocking online.

Expect crazy people yelling and teasing eachother though.

Oh, and Message system and the Marketplace are great too.

Live looks awesome. I'm hoping to get it within the next month. I need to get the wifi adapter first though.

I don't go online like I used to, but LIVE is great! I don't know exactly what PSN offers, but I never felt cheated for payin $50 for LIVE.

I havn't seen what the ps3 online service is like but for me xbox live is just fun and easy. I can chat to friends who are playing different games to me, i can invite them to my games at any time, i can go on msn while im playing my games and i love comparing my achievments of games to other people! All that can be done on silver which is more than enough for me as i'm not really a big online gamer but i keep the gold subscription anyway for the occasional online game.

For me though, the greatest thing about the service is the online content available through the xbox live arcade. Before i didn't really care much for small games or the retro games but now i see myself buying the occasional game such as N+, Rez Hd and Puzzle Quest which are all fantastic!

Have hardly played my games online, and I would probably be content with just silver, but decided 4 bucks a month isn't much.  And it's sweet to have the option of online multiplayer when I want it. As for Live, the interface is simple and easy... exactly what it should be. I'd perhaps pay for silver, if it were required (hope MS isn't reading this ).

LOL ... paying for silver ... LOL ... very, very funny.

I also like how LIVE is integrated with the Web to let you message folks via the site. However, I do like the PS3 Web browser, though it would be wicked if you could download flash players and other software to view most Web pages.

That's one thing I'm hoping for in the future.

There's already a Flash player installed in the browser.
