Look, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Probably Isn't a PS4 Exclusive

Here we go again

Is Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy a PlayStation 4 exclusive? We've said it a million times already but we'll go ahead and say it again: probably not. Sony has never explicitly said that the remade collection is exclusive to its home console - and that's the biggest warning sign you could ask for. If the trilogy was a full PS4 exclusive, you can bet your butt that Sony would be shouting it from the rooftops - but it isn't.

Recently adding fuel to the fire, an eagle-eyed Twitter user snapped a picture at a Canadian Best Buy store. The image shows a display of upcoming games - one of them being Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Beneath the title's rather lacking box art, there's a line of text that reads "1 Year Console Exclusive". Sounds about right to us.

Now, retailers don't know everything. Listings on sites like Amazon can often be misleading, and hey, everyone makes mistakes. But in this case, especially given Sony's apparent inability to confirm whether Crash is exclusive or not, we'd hazard a guess that this line of text is there for a reason.

Look, just don't act surprised when the trilogy gets announced for other platforms in 2018, okay?

I hope so, otherwise I won't be able to play it =P

Seriously though, Activision did this exact same thing with another game years ago, that being the GoldenEye 007 remake on the Wii. That game was exclusive but then got ported to the other consoles the following year.

The crash exclusivity talk threads I swear

Still, I think it's better if everyone gets to play it.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I mean if it was a PS4 exclusive, Sony would of made sure everyone would know that by now, it would be on box art, promotional material, at the start and end of every video they show of it. Besides this is Activison making this game, they'll want to make as much money from it as possible, and if the Crash Bandicoot Skylander wasn't a PS4 exclusive, I doubt this title won't end up on PC and other platforms eventually. It's not like Crash is stranger to other platforms such as Xbox and Nintendo platforms, in fact my first Crash Bandicoot games were Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure and Crash Nitro Kart on the GBA.

In other news, water is wet.

I would probably get it if is released on PC or Switch.

I'm so bloody tired about hearing whether Crash will be exclusive or not...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Interesting.
And directly contrast the other images that have the "ps4 exclusive" icon on them.

Then again when has anyone ever advertised something is a console exclusive? Seems really odd to actually advertise when exactly the competition will get it.

even if it's just true while the covers are printed, it's still perfectly true.

and

Sure that's xbox. You can find Quantum break images that say "xbox one exclusive". Now where is it? Oh yeah windows 10 and steam.

Has there been something recent that Sony has claimed as "Playstation 4 exclusive" that changed before it released?

And do you think stores actually advertise something as "1 year console exclusive"? I don't recall any pictures of that sign under Tomb raider  - do you?

But the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy doesn't even have the 'only on playstation' mark on the box art big play station exclusives usually have which I find strange cause that would be most relevant place to advertise it's exclusivity.
