Yeah the open world part was announced in December 2016.  I'm looking forward to seeing some more screenshots in the coming days, a little gutted that development is only 40% complete though.

I wonder how this will work out! I'm getting burnt out on all the open-world transitions, so this game would have to be really good to catch my interest.

I'm quite intrigued by this right now, but at the same time, I'm still really worried they're just going to use the open world to force us to do even more meaningless stuff, such as boring filler missions, boring hunting, and boring and time-consuming running around. It sounds like they're actually going to take advantage of the open world too, but I hope they don't misuse it at the same time. Judging by the information so far, this could be either the best or the worst Dynasty Warriors game so far, or anything in between.

Oh, and if there's no split-screen, it's almost dead for me. Dynasty Warriors alone is only so much fun, but it's much more fun with a second player.

Good to see them advancing the series. It's risky but hopefully they can pull it off.

This game on ps4 would sell well in China and other parts of Asia so it's not just Japan. I'd like to see it succeed.

My hope is that they do something cool like giving you freedom to go around an open world and conquer the land in any order you want. I get that this would hurt story but I would like to see it tried at least once

I like Warriors games and all but making it open world for me sounds like the worst idea. I love open world but somehow this sounds like it will make it worse.
