Too bad you didn't like it. But Mario Kart isn't a ''basic'' game. Especially when you got 5 battle modes, 8 battle arenas, 48 tracks, online.
The only thing I wish there were are lobbies, and ways to invite friends easily to your game even when you're matchmaking. It should be standard, just like voicechat.

Yeah, the blue discs are actually CDs. I'd be pretty pissed if they didn't work, since TimeSplitters is a CD game and that's my second favourite PS2 game.

I mean I feel like it's the same thing over and over again, the tracks are like very similar in structure.... it's a very pretty game.... I dunno I just don't hate it at all but it doesn't feel like a 9.4

i am giving an honest opinion tho
The 3DS eventually got home screen themes and the OS started to look better, so I think the Switch will get a better OS soon. And I can see where you are coming from with how dry this console is at launch, but soon Nintnedo will add the coming Netflix, Hulu, virtual console, better online, voice chat, etc. in updates
. PS4 didn't have the most killer games in 2013/2014 (mostly PS3 developed games) but now the exclusives are everywhere and amazing. I feel like Switch is a gaining momentum console, similar to ps4.
Also I think you're looking in the wrong criterias for mk8, the battle modes are fun and play online with a friend or invite friends to ur house to get the full experience.
Why am I not surprised. I wouldn't expect you to get it.

I took it to a friend's place and it wasn't as fun as I expected it to be
