You didn't explain why you refuse to get yourself a team.

Of course the quality in the ranks gets worse as the season progresses, because the good players carry and rank up. 2 weeks ago the Diamond rankes were filled with Grand Champions but most of them are gone now.

I'm a casual, I play short sessions now and then, team puts responsibility on you.

Really in a game like this if you are a casual player who doesn't commit time to it you will get teamed with other players who are the exact same league as you. Casual people just playing for a laugh, if you are annoyed at being paired with them then you gotta change things around to not fit into that category of player yourself.

Haven't played the game in a while but i can see how things can get annoying.

Match making is something that all online games struggle with.

Yes. The infinity symbol is actually trademarked by Nintendo since the original release of MK8.

Did you know Nintendo also didn't have to pay royaltys to use the 7 for Mario Kart 7 on the 3ds? Because they own that ever since Killer 7 on the Gamecube, I know.. now you're thinking "but that was a capcom game" but alas, Capcom had just paid to use the number in the title from Nintendo, cost them around 7 million, which while they were drawing up the papers for the agreement just cost them more and more each time they used Nintendos number.

This went too far... I'm sorry.

Just a couple of things. First, Rocket League is one of the most brilliant and entertaining sports games I have ever played. Second, I can empathize a little with you because I know what getting bad teammates online is like, sometimes it is baffling how they reached the rank that they did with their horrible skill level. That being said, you have to be willing to change the way you play the game to fit in with the randoms you get. Are they ball chasing nincompoops? Stay back, play d and clear the ball out of your end. Are they wait and see what the other team does sort of players? Be aggressive, get on the ball and force the play yourself. Are they defensive? In that case, once again you are the aggressor and need to center as much as possible and make plays.

I have run into every sort of teammate on that game, and I can tell you right now there are games where I come out KNOWING that we should have lost the game because of how atrocious my teammates were, but because I come out of the game with 5 saves, and goals scored from making plays in my own end we manage to win. Sometimes it's not about you and how you do and being the top scorer on your team, you need to take the good with the bad. You'll pull out many more wins, and close games if you play to your randoms strengths (if they have any, if not, just play D!). The art of Rocket League is a difficult one to perfect, and I'm not there yet, I still can't freestyle aerial or aerial dribble, but I try to contribute the best I can to push my team to a win. Generally, it works out.

The game is fantastic, you're definitely in the minority. On that, the only time I get upset playing is when I'm losing 10-0. Some of the players are crazy good.

I really hate the title of this thread. It seems really demeaning to anyone with actual learning disabilities or mental health issues but not stupid. Title feels low and the OP seems to be throwing a fit. Frustration is one thing but this is low. I like how some people in this thread having autism makes you bad at games. I have Aspergers which is on the spectrum. I have beaten some of the hardest games ever made. I am pretty good at Guilty Gear with Slayer. I have beaten countless RPGs. I guess I can only play Minecraft tho right? Even tho I never touched the game.

Still though, using a mental illness as an insult. Can't be doing that.

Well I think retarded should be ok. Its such a great word to use. Not to describe people with autism or anything like that of course, but that word is just too good to censor. Calling your friends that for doing something stupid or to describe a horrible idea and stuff like that. Its perfect.

At the risk of looking like a douche in the eyes of some people, I do too. Retarded League just looks and sounds better. Plus, it would have been funny to see the mods edit the title down to Mentally Challenged League. This reminded me of a bit from one of my favs, Doug Stanhope. I can't find the clip. It may have been taken down. Even though it lacks his trademark cadence, here's the quote:

"

  • The thing with the word 'retarded' is that 'retarded' is not like other epithets, it was not a word of hatred; retarded was the medical definition, was actually a word actually born in sensitivity. Cause they used to call them, before retarded was the word, doctors would use 'imbecile' or 'moron.' This is something a smart fuck at Harvard has labelled 'The Euphemism Treadmill': moron and imbecile were the correct terms for a while, and what happened is we co-opted those words to call our friend when he does something incredibly stupid, to the point where it became an insult. So out of sensitivity, they changed the word to 'retarded'... and what happened was we co-opted that word to call our friend when he does something incredibly stupid. So you can keep changing the word, and if you make the new one stick that's what I'm going to call my friend. "Did you just put a metal plate in a microwave? What are you, developmentally disabled? You don't fucking put a metal plate in a microwave, who doesn't know that?" You can make it as difficult to pronounce and Latin-based and medical-rooted, and if you make it stick that's the new word I'm going to call my friend when he trips over his own shoelaces: "Ha ha! You just exhibited some of the atlantoaxial instability that is usually associated with the trisomie 21 genetic imbalance!"

My sister was born in 1970 and she had 1 exta chromosone. SHe was clinically labeled retarded and became a literaly textbook case taught in medical journals. So yeah I am fine with the word retarded. I just hate people making assumptions anyone with austism can't play games (as my previous post goe sinto detail about) and using Mentally Challenged as a way to belittle others. Op threw a tantrum and honestly his title and post should now be allowed.
