Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Talks NES Classic Edition Discontinuation As Sales Surpass 2 Million

Arent they doing a second run of it or is that already sold out?

They said they were doing one last shipment in April which probably already happened and was gone before or right when they hit the store shelves.  Those units are long gone by now with most ending up on amazon and ebay selling for 3-4 times the value.

Well that sucks. Just emulate them then. If Nintendo wont help you, then the internet will

2m units and didnt even come with "Snake Rattle'n Roll or "Ducktales".

They should have sold this at 100 dollars with a massive profit margin to begin with. You know? Profit? That thing that makes a company healthy?
At a price that makes no sense to keep putting them out, it is just corporative onanism, it is nothing, it is just... pointless.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Snake Rattle'n Roll belongs to Microsoft...

Looks like I will have to get in early with my snes classic edition order to beat the scalpers. Wasn't bothered about the NES but really fancy both SNES and N64 versions.

I dont think a N64 one will happen. Not without the Rare IPs.

I bet the NES mini was dirt cheap to produce and made money from other accessories. There are $20 phones that push better specs than this thing.

In the grand scheme though, significantly more money can be made from 3DS and Switch.

As much as I love some Rare games I have no problem buying a N64 classic console without them. Just off the top of my head, Mario 64, 2 Zelda's, Pilotwings, Waverace, smash bros (not a favourite of mine though), Paper Mario, Mario party, Mario Tennis plus quite a few third party games excluding Rare. It would be easy to get to 30 very good games I think.
