I haven't played any monster hunter since freedom unite, even though I had a 3DS, but this is good.... if they managed to fix the damn hip check.

Oh boy, this again.
I don't think a Monster Hunter exclusive would even be a worthwhile thing for Sony to pursue. The PS4 is doing fine in Japan, about as well as the PS3 did. It's not going to fly to PSP/3DS levels because of Monster Hunter. I think Sony is content with the PS4's performance in Japan and is more interested in competing in the much larger Western markets, where Mon Hun pulls no weight.
Monster Hunter is still one of the strongest franchises in Japan, but I think it's lost its enormous influence. The game has spawned its own sub-genre with multiple competitors. It may have lost some of its fans to God Eater, etc.
Most notably, Japan is in the process of shrinking from a 4-platform ecosystem to merely 2. Once upon a time there was a handheld generation exceeding 50 million console sales alongside a home console gen of more than 20 million. Those days are far behind us. Now there is one home console and one hybrid platform, and two slowly-but-surely retiring handhelds.

Id actually been hearing about this "rumor" for a while now, (one of the biggest mistakes of Sony with the Vita at least for me was losing MH to Nintendo) it be awesome to have a Monster Hunter that uses the power of a console like the PS4.

Sony are not going to break the bank to get a game exclusive that would sell 2m max on ps4 and possibly as low as 1m. At most they will look for a DQ11 situation with the ultimate version on ps4.
This will go perfectly in 2018 with the PS4 Portable release.

Sony is already buying up a lot of exclusive crap.

Pocky Lover Boy!

That sucks. I find Monster Hunter games best played on the go. Loved MH4 on 3DS. I would have picked up 5 if it was on the Switch. Not on a Home Console/PC unless the visuals are mind blowing awesome.
They couldn't recycle most assets if Mh comes to ps4 so they should just release Deep down on ps4.
I think it'd be a good fit. I've only played Monster Hunter Tri and the one on 3ds, and both times I felt like the series had been kind of stifled by the hardware.
With that said, I feel like it'd be a good match for the Switch too, but only assuming they didn't go nuts with the touch-waggle-swipe bullshit when it would just be nicer to use the buttons >:(

Well... it's in Japan... one is a home console that can't be moved from the home... the other is a handheld. What do you think? lol
