Agreed :)

I have to wonder if in 100 or 200 years (maybe not even that long), if we'll actually have REAL Pokemon. I can just imagine the buying frenzy when they would be released ;)

Life imitating games... :)

I think it will do, at least, Ruby/Saphire levels.

I have both games. I dont know HOW much of an improvement you want, but the game is great. I like the dual screen interface and touch screen commands. I do find that the battling is a bit slower, but just a bit.

this is just damn addictive and made me play Red/Blue and Gold/Silver for around 150 hours each.

Off topic.  I have you beat with over 350 hours on one game in Silver alone.  It took me that long to get every last one of them.

But my guess is that they can sell about 15.  However, if Battle Revolution becomes very popular(and there are enough Wii's), then the numbers could begin to challenge Red/Green/Blue with about 25-30.  I think this guess is too high, though; considering there are fewer than 10 million Wii's sold to date.

i think europe might let the sales numbers down, i expect it will sell similar to yellow

I think it will depend on a couple of things...

When the next pokemon is released, and if they come out with a third in the series or if it's just diamond and perl.

My daughter and wife just started playing diamond and perl. One has diamond and one has perl. The are talking about needing a third copy of the game, something about 3 different starters or something...? I don't understand, only that if there was a third in the series (and possibly even if not) they will be getting another copy???

Also, don't underestimate the long term impact of Pokemon revolution for the wii... it works best with a couple of the pokemon games and not the others.... So, if they wait long enough before starting a new series, and maybe add a third to this series, I think it could become the number 1.

A third game will be counted seperatly, it has always been this way. Yellow, Crystal, Emerald.

Now you may ask why are there 3 pokemon games at the top of the chart. Simply, the original versions in japan were Red and Green. The name of Green was changed to Blue for america and others. Later on there was a special Blue edition released in japan, but it's not different enough to the original games to be counted as seperat game like Yellow.

That's whatI mean, if they came out with a third game that wasn't different enough to the original games to be counted as a seperate.  Basically, the only difference would be the starting pokemon or whatever else is different between Diamond and Perl.  Basically 99.9% the same...

There are no differences in Diamond and Pearl other than the pokemon available in the game.  The 3rd version WILL have differences.  There is always a 3rd version with differences.  Often extras stuff added to the plot, pokemon that weren't available in either of the previous versions, some small gameplay formula differences, etc.
