Forums - Politics - 2017 French Election (Macron Wins 66%)

Who do you think will be the next President of France?

Macron 167 69.87%

Le Pen 72 30.13%

Total:239

As a French guy, I really don't get why every foreigner seems so worried about Le Pen winning this election (even here in Japan several people talked to me about it). SHE CAN'T. The last time a Le Pen went to the second round (her father 15 years ago), he lost worse than 80/20. Everyone will go to vote Macron to block Le Pen, it will more likely be a 70/30 round (she's more popular than her father). "Who won the first round" doesn't matter at all here, it's a detail. We could maybe talk seriously about Le Pen winning in 10-15 more years if things keep getting worse. It's too early. Her only chance would be that everyone think the same thing and won't vote, but that's unlikely.

But the real question is about the parliament elections in a month. Le Pen as usual almost won't get any seat, but Macron himself doesn't have a strong party to back him up, so I'm not sure he'll get a majority. We could still get a classic right-wing parliament, and so government. We'll see...

Alright France, don't fuck us on this. Keep those quasi-fascist loons from the National From destroying Europe.

If extreme right can't win in France, they won't win anywhere in Western Europe. And the chances of Le Pen are pretty low, so we're probably safe (for now).

A classic right-wing parliament isn't too bad. The moderate right usually doesn't take crazy decisions.

A lightning Ipsos poll of second round voting intentions sees Macron beating Le Pen by 62%-38%:

Its a virtual tie right now. Given the outstanding vote, Macron is going to win, unless a massive shift occurs in Paris. It is close, but Macron will probably come out with a 1-2 point lead.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

So they're integrated, yet kill Europeans for their religion. Those two statements contradict each other.

You were implying that all terrorists are refugees who never got integrated, which is not the case.

Where did he imply that?

Le Pen will likely loose the 2nd election to the fake anti-establishment candidate Macron who is actually very pro establishment and pro mass migration. So absolutely nothing will change and within a few years France will become another radical Islamic state in Europe.
The people either want it that way or they are too optimistic and do not want to see the harsh reality.

People of France certainly don't want to become an Islamic state. They are too naive to see it as a possibility though, and anyone who criticizes the open mass immigration and whanot is labeled as a racist and a xenophobe right away.

Too many inmigrants in France for Le Pen to win.

Aren't you someone who's pretty sheltered? What would you know about the effects of mass immigration?
