Corporations like Coca-Cola have billions of dollars and in some cases billions of consumers to think about. Bill O' Reilly and his rinky dink little cable TV show that reaches a few million people in Hicktown USA (he averages 2.8 million viewers) is not worth tarnishing your brand over. There are a million other ways to advertise your product and plenty of other highly rated TV programs.

To be honest in the grand scheme of things, his ratings are not that impressive. A show like Supergirl which was lambasted for low ratings had about 2.2 million viewers on most nights, a hit TV show like "The Walking Dead" gets over 11 million just from the 18-49 demo alone.

It is for a freaking cable news show.  Did Coca-Cola even advertise on his show to begin with?  Can't recall ever seeing a Coke ad while watching his show.

Advertisers lost sales for dropping Glenn Beck?  Seriously?  I'd love to read the source for that.

Two seperate stories there.  The ones who dropped Rush lost business.  The ones who "dropped" Glenn weren't even advertising with him to begin with, so it didn't really affect them or him.

I know Mercedes-Benz and BMW dropped him like a rock. I'm just saying for big corporations like this, a 2.8 million viewership is piddly nothing in the grand scheme of things. If he thought he could do whatever he wanted and never get fired, I think he's been proven pretty wrong.

Bill goes in, Bill goes out.
You can't explain that...

Ok, you have made up your mind on the matter, so no point in arguing this. Neither of us will get anything out of it.

One last thing. What exactly do you think he meant by "I don't even wait", if not that he doesn't wait for a sign of aproval?

Honest question are you a virgin? This far left views of how sexual interaction have to played out, are not reality. This is assuming what he said is fact not just banter between two people.

That's like saying "Guys it's okay. He's not a sexual predator....We just can't believe anything he says anymore"

It's not, there's heaps of things to rightly bash trump on without taking things out of context.

what is even weirder about that is that i've seen the same type of banter regularly on these forums

...its pretty much the sort of thing guys(and women) say amongst themselves all the time

I know. We also have to remember that hes a billionaire though. So people will try and take advantage of that. Not saying he has never done anything or that the women are lying, but if everything he does gets swept under the rug, then we probably wont know what he has done.

Well that's the double standard that's applied. You say you want women to come out, but if they do then the narrative becomes "well they're just trying to take him for money". Those women can't win either way.

Luckily the jack ass got caught on tape voicing his real opinions, and all that bullshit about "locker room talk" ... I was a jock growing up still play organized sports with 2-3x a week, lift weights 4-5x a week ... that shit that Trump said was creepy even by "locker room" standards. You don't joke about groping women's vaginas without constent, that's just fucked up.

what is the most "offensive" thing you've said about a woman while in conversation with other men?

I dunno, maybe using the 10 scale to rate their looks, I don't think I really even do that anymore, it's called growing up. Yeah of course locker room banter is juvenile. But I hear guy talk all the time, I've never heard a guy, even the more obnoxious types brag about doing things to women without their consent. That's just weird and creepy.

I play in a beer league hockey rec league too, so a "real" sport (lol) and we have beers after the game in the locker room and the whole nine yards, so yeah there's a lot of explicit stuff said from time to time but nothing like that. You're a weird fucking dude if you're going around talking about grabbing women without asking them.

Usually guys are talking about their fantasy football league or NHL players or the NBA or their work/boss/school, occassionally it's relationship/girl/"how'd that date go" type talk or how "number X/Y/Z player on the other team is an asshole".

I think punishing people for things they said in private is nothing more than thought policing. Imagine people seeing the thoughts about women the majority of men had in their life Most men would probably be in jail if their thoughts equated to actions. As would be a lot of women.

I still think that we should punish people's actions alone and not their words or thoughts.
