The Wii version was just announced for the US. It will probably be next year for Europe knowing how they already screwed us Europeans on this.
Kotaku writer provides more evidence (anectodal though) that the OT holds true. Sorry stubborn PS fans, this game is going to be amazing but youll have to wait even longer if this pans out. Or you know you could get a 360. Just a thought.

First, Kotaku reader Brooza was notified by Amazon UK that his pre-order, dating back to June 2007, finally had a ship date of May 15 to May 22. We have yet to hear from anyone who had pre-ordered the PS3 SKU.
Second, a poster on the NeoGAF forums, citing a retailer memo, also pegs Rock Band's European tour will start on May 22, retailing for 169.99 Euro (about $260 in current US dollars). That memo is said to also list the PS3 and PS2 editions for the fall. We're following up again with EA's European folks and will update when we hear back.

???????? You're not going to buy another MS product because MS is providing your 360 with games??? That doesn't make any sense.... |
Actually they're using their money to deny other gamers access to a game only for their own advantage.
OT I think this is pretty silly move. With high price of RB I believe it will see steady adoption but not be front loaded - which means a timed exclusive will not really help MS much. Rather in the way of many US companies who mess up their perception outside US with such tactics in Europe this could easily generate negative view of 360 with non-owners (owners won't care) rather than encourage them to buy 360 to get RB.
PS3 is too strong in most of Europe now for such tactics to have much chance I believe, and MS would do better to focus on better marketing/brand perception activities than this type of approach.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Many of my colleagues at work want to buy Rock Band for their families and would jump at this, deciding their next gen console as well. They have asked me to track this game for them as I am the video game guru at work. :)
In all honesty I have waited forever for this game, I dont care just give me this game! I need to calm down.
Not bad MS, not bad.
u begin to understand u need more casuals party games, better now than never.
Time to Work !
It will hardly help the 360 in Europe at all. If you look at GH3 sales in Europe compared to NA, you will see that it isn't as popular in Europe as it is in NA by quite a way. Also, RB isn't as popular as GH, plus the ridiculous price!
I might import Rock Band from the US. Does anyone know if the NA version will work on a PAL PS3? I know games are region free, but what about the instruments? Also what site to buy it from, I don't think amazon.com ship to the UK do they?

I can't wait to read all the replies from people who act as if Microsoft was the only company moneyhatting other companies...

No doubt they will market the fact that Rock Band is exclusive to their platform.
Do you call it "using their money to deny other gamers access to a game only for their own advantage" with regard to Sony moneyhatting Ubisoft for Haze or Epic for UT3?
Or do you call that Sony doing the best they can for their customers?
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
while a good move, it won't have much effect on console sales, it may shift more 360 versions of the game, but that's about it. guitar hero 3 on 360 sold under half a million copies in others. it's not a popular franchise in pal regions unfortunately. so rockband isn't going to do any better.
