Well, I'd be a bit more willing to have changes like that, because I'm not a tournament player. However, I doubt that they would want that.

I'm also not a competitive player, so I don't really see the need to go back to Melee when I could just play Smash 4, with a lot more characters, stages, etc.

I think a Melee remake would try to appeal to the competitive so I doubt they would want changes in gameplay or they wouldn't bother upgrading, which is why a VC or port version would be better in that sense

Well, I prefer Melee because I like the gameplay more, and the Classic mode/Adventure mode makes the single player more enjoyable for me than Smash 4 is.

Adventure mode/Subspace was really fun, really disappointed when it was left out in Smash 4

but true, people who have liked Melee more would definitely want a remake over a Smash 4 port

I shudder everytime I even think of playing Smash with the Joycons.... *throws up in mouth*

I've never really liked Melee all that much compared to Brawl and Sm4sh. I'd much prefer a new one altogether.

Melee HD with a whole new set of "Melee amiibo" to go with it. Maybe this would finally unify the Smash community under one banner.

release an updated deluxe edition of smash 4, and release Melee amiibos that unlock melee versions of that character (physics included). That way we have Melee shiek vs smash4 sheik , etc

that would go over real nice with the community right? yeah

I'd prefer a new Smash personally. Never really been into the competitive scene, so more characters and stages are much more appealing to me. A Smash without Ike would make me a sad boom.

first smash I played was Brawl so I don't really know how good Melee is, but a remake doesn't make sense at all

I don't think SSB is the kind of game that could use a remake

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I bet a melee remake would be suck a SHINE, it would be DASHING not to L cancel in on that.

The Melee scene would still find reasons to complain and go on and on about how the original is better and how any one capable of enjoying the remake has shit taste and is a lesser being, as they've done with ever Samsh since and will continue to do with any Smash in the future...

Have a nice day...

I do think Melee was amazing, didn't own Brawl but played it and didn't think it was any better than Melee. Never played the Wii U one. But didn't the Wii U one have like 8 player matches? That sounds crazy and possibly awesome. They should just release melee on the VC for Switch, I'd much rather have a SSB U deluxe than a remake of a game that would be perfectly great as a VC title without any upgrade/remake at all.

They could also just make a SSB5, though honestly I think this gen just doing deluxe version of MK and SSB is perfectly fine cuz those series have gotten so near perfect it would seem and then they can focus on giving the BoTW treatment (reinventing franchises in awesome new ways) to some of their IPs. Seems like they are already attempting to do that with Mario Odyssey.
