Oh. You can't. Because you waited 10 years after the launch of the PS3 to play PS3. Now, go call your mom on your flip phone and tell her to return your copy of American Pie to Blockbuster Video.

You're drunk again. And on Easter....tisk, tisk. What would layton's mom say?

Second hand market is really nice, especially when you wait

Just that multiplayer-focused games will be not as good :p

My only input on this topic is waiting a year or two for some games is the superior option. That way most / all issues are patched out, the DLC is packed in, and it'll be cheaper. Waiting until the end of the gen is good for gamers on a wire thin budget, I suppose.

Can do that with any popular console, rare niche games would be a problem though. Sometimes they more expensive then at launch.

Same goes for less popular consoles, some of the games for these systems rise to obscene levels.

It depends on what you want to get out of the generation I guess. But getting in late is defenitly cheaper. Although I prefer to witness the technical marvel of improvements of the system above spending less for more games. One of the great things of the PS3 was the evolution of certain franchises like Uncharted and the R&C future series.

If you aren't a collector you would be surprised what is digitally available these days on the PS store. Can't speak for Steam and MS marketplace or the Eshop but it can't be that different from the ps store except Steam is obviously way better in well everything.

It's nice to stumble on good games for dirt cheap but I'd rather experience them in their prime. Reminds me of that Jim Gaffigan skit where a guy only recently watched Heat and wanted to discuss it with friends.

Hey... you seen Heat?
Yeah, like, 15 years ago.
But I wanna talk about it now!
No, weirdo.

Don't worry- most of my friends played on PC :p

Chances are she'd tell me to get off the Nintendo. Doesn't matter what I am using. If it plays games, then it's a nintendo to her

I usually don't play multiplayer games too much. I prefer local or single player

I agree, but even 3 - 6 months are often enough for an acceptable patch level and the first 50% deals (or lower).

I agree with you on a logical level. But it is just more exciting having a system from the beginning, what with all the game announcements and such.

I was too poor to afford a PS3 until around the Super Slim, which you can get for like 100-150 now. Went on a JRPG splurge and Indie splurge. Also got The Last of Us, the MGS games, etc. Have only played about 10% of the stuff I bought thanks to University. But man, when I graduate and find a semi decent steady job, I'm going to catch up on the PS3 and 360 (specifically Lost Odyssey on 360 and Blue Dragon). So much good stuff on PS3, can't wait to dig into the library.
