Forums - General - How is F8 of the Furious?

Is it a standalone movie? I havent watched Furious 7 yet but I have the opportunity to see F8 in IMAX, should I see 8 before 7? Or just go watch Ghost in the Shell in 3D with Dolby Atmos sound?

I haven't seen the seventh one, but it is a sequel to it. I'm not sure if the plot is really that important to the series, though. It's mainly about the action.

Somebody who's seen it will answer but I hear it's more of the same (Fast Five, Furious 7) no realism or story testosterone fest. If you like the other, you'll like this and if you don't like the franchise, this won't change your mind.

The commercial I saw made it seem positively crazy... like aren't they somehow required to save everyone from terrorism or something?

Haven't really looked into it yet, but it looks like it's even less plausible than before; of course, plausibility is not what makes those movies so much fun lol, it's reviewing decently well (64% on rottentomatoes is good for a movie like this as far as I'm concerned), so I'll probably go watch it

We do you like a submarine chasing cars on the north pole as plot device. That pretty much answers your question on whether or not you like this movie.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I just want to know whether it's a continuation of 7 or if it's referenced much since I haven't seen that one.

Yes, it's a continuation of 7.

Have u seen it all but 7?

I haven't seen Fast & Furious 5-7 and could still follow the events of 8 easily.

The movie itself is pretty good.

I've seen the original, Tokyo Drift and 5. I haven't seen the others, but I read the plots and can tell that they follow each other, but as I said before the action is the main focus of the movies, not the plot.
