it seems like you are taking your personal opinion of the game and assuming tge majority of people feel the same way.

That the game is a three year old port and not a new game is a fact, not an opinion.

"A 3 year old port isn't going to be a strong system seller"

"Those who really wanted it already bought it years ago."

"but as an old port it isn't generating that "new game buzz" that drives hardware sales surges"

People are not arguing over that, people are arguing over if the game can move consoles or not, in a significant way, old or not.And it will.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

So? I could say you and others are equally assuming that others share your opinion.

Minecraft can end up as way bigger than people are expecting, especially in Europe.

It could, but unfortunately its digital only at the moment, so I don't believe non-die hards will know about it due to it not being on store shelves and in the publics eye. Too bad we never get concrete digital sales numbers, even though I would think downloads would be easier to tally together and release info on lol.

I'm sure MK8DX is going to be a million seller, but after its release Switch will only have Minecratf, DIsgaea 5 and Ultra Street Fighter 2. Is enough?

What do you think?

PS4 had less than a dozen games coming out december through february after it's launch and did just fine. Also, you forgot Rime and Tumbleseed.

With MK8DX just before and ARMS and Splatoon 2 coming out not long after, it will be no problem at all.

In all honesty, it feels like they pushed the Switch out in Spring because the Wii U had been effectively dead (their own fault) for the better part of a year.

I think if they had waited several months to launch Switch later this year, they would have had a lot more games and services ready to go at launch. But whatever, I guess. Hopefully they pick up the slack and this doesn't turn into another Wii U deal, with sparse releases.

You know there was a game released last year basically in the same situation as mk8 deluxe right? Difference here now is this port is going on switch rather than 3ds.

Going by japanese sales the port of a 2 year old game surpassed the original on wiiu

Yes im talking about Super Mario Maker. MK8D is basically the same. Im surprised you havenet notice the game is basically a gold mine for nintendo. This port has a huge chance of outselling the original. Watch japan closely

Yet Mario Maker gave no hardware boost to 3DS. In fact, 3DS hardware was down 57% from the week prior when Mario Maker came out.

Prove it!

I bought it years ago, and I'm buying it again. Double dipping is what us Nintendo fans do

Nope not me, wont be buying it again, will just wait until the inevitable MK9 is announced next year!

Lets just hope Nintendo can keep this momentum. And i think its enough, on June we have E3 2017 and lets hope Nintendo have ton of surprise for us
