I am very suprised, either way, if it's the PS2/PC in #2 position...You'd think the PC would be well above the 360, and the PS2 would be well below #2.

 PC probably is.  NPD doesn't count a LOT of stuff when it comes to PC gaming.  Steam being the biggest.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

 xbox and PS2 would be my guess, i would imagine the only PS2 games getting major action is FFXI and Socom.

It's a survey rather than actual data, so whether or not it includes Steam isn't really the point.  And the 2nd statement clearly says for video game systems only, so isn't counting the PC.

The basic conclusion is that there are fewer PS3 users playing online, but the ones that do play online do so for more hours per week.  PS2/Wii apparently have a lot of users but they don't play many hours.

And 360 is just *the* online console by either measure.

It is just saying that the average Xbox 360 owner spends more time playing online than the average PC owner. The article is just ignoring the installed base and instead going for averages.

If anything I'm surprised that the PC is in second on average, since the PC is dominated by casual players who just spend time playing flash games.
