Forums - Gaming - Sony - Crash Trilogy is "PS4 exclusive"

Good. Crash Bandicoot is a PlayStation mascot, so Crash games should rightfully be exclusive to PS. As unlikely as it may now be, I still have a slight hope that Sony will buy him back one day.

Honestly why is Activision even holding him at this point.  They don't DO anything with him.  They aren't making money off him.  He's not a selling point unless he were to go back to ND or at least a Sony dev house.  It's a win win for him to go back as I'm sure Sony would compensate them more than they'll make from a new release to get him back.

With this remaster though, that may no longer be true. Either way though, it's a lose-lose for us from here on out. If this remaster does well, it'll inspire Activision to do more with the franchise and disuade them from selling it. While if it does poorly, Sony will see it as a sign that the franchise is dead and disuade them from buying it.

Who the fuck cares if it is exclusive, it´s not like Ps4 needs anymore exclusives to add to that insane list that most Ps4 owners can´t even afford most, let alone even more Sony is throwing at them.

Wipeout and Crash in June, then Uc GT God of War Days Gone Detroit Dreams and god knows what more, Sony lost his mind releasing games back to back to back, seriously our wallets can´t take this much.

Doesn't that make it's exclusuivity even more noteworthy?

I don't understand people's fascination with Crash. The game was decent for a PSOne game but it has not aged well and to be honest it wasn't even a memorable game, specially since it had to compete with Marion 64 which completely revolutionized platform games.

I just played Warped ealrier today and it was still fun. Only the first one has aged poorly, I'd say.

Again, they said they are using the original trilogy assets to build this game, which are owned by Sony, so it's is really likely to be exclusive.

Do they really own the assets? I hear people say this, but I don't even know if it's true.

I think warped has aged better than Mario 64.

Thanks to the way more simplistic design and linear structure, yes, but it wasn't nearly as impressive as Mario 64 or even close to be as revolutionary as Mario 64 was, that game was an epic wow back in the day. Nowadays I confess I rather play Crash 2 or 3, they are still fun games but they are not exactly Super Mario Bros 3, their style of gameplay has really aged a lot. It will be a great nostalgia trip thought.

See I can't even compare crash 2 and 3.  The joystick controls and gameplay variety in 3 just puts it head and shoulders above the rest of the series for me.  And 1 is simply unplayable.
