Forums - Gaming - Sony - Crash Trilogy is "PS4 exclusive"

Sony can't stop guys. They know what it takes to win. This is the result of competition. We have no one to thank but Microsoft for the sound ass kicking they gave em.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Anytime something is confirmed exclusive to PlayStation, it's always the same few people coming in and lamenting it not being elsewhere.

I've honestly always felt it was weird that Crash was appearing elsewhere. He was a PlayStation icon, and then started appearing on other consoles. It's actually fitting that he returns to PlayStation exclusivity.

Are you talking about me ;(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

YES

But it isn't from a place of hate, just an observation.

Hes a playstation mascot.... its not that weird its exclusive.

Good. Crash Bandicoot is a PlayStation mascot, so Crash games should rightfully be exclusive to PS. As unlikely as it may now be, I still have a slight hope that Sony will buy him back one day.

I always thought it would be a PS4 exclusive, it would be weird if it wasn't.

For anyone wondering why people were confused if it was exclusive or not, there was a tweet from an official PlayStation account which made it sound like a timed exclusive:

The tweet:

Of course thats what they want you to believe, if you were working for a first party, would you advertise a highly anticipated title originally announced on one of your flagshow events as a multiplat?

I still have my doubts just like this example.

-snip-

(I dont think Yakuza 0 is coming to steam, at least not anytime soon)

Bottom line is - that tag on the boxart means nothing, just like the "Only on Playstation" tags. Even if it is exclusive now, doesnt necessarily make it exclusive for good since the publisher and owner of the IP is still Activision, a company known to make multiplat titles. I'm gonna look at this as a "timed exclusive" just for that reason.

If i remember correctly, Activision own the general IP but Sony have the rights to the original trilogy. I expect they had to come to an agreement because of that dynamic, so who knows what will happen.

Some of these responses are downright cringey to read.

Would be funny if this turned out multiplat though

Who the fuck cares if it is exclusive, it´s not like Ps4 needs anymore exclusives to add to that insane list that most Ps4 owners can´t even afford most, let alone even more Sony is throwing at them.

Wipeout and Crash in June, then Uc GT God of War Days Gone Detroit Dreams and god knows what more, Sony lost his mind releasing games back to back to back, seriously our wallets can´t take this much.

Sony has too many exclusives for us to afford!  This is like the ultimate first world problem.  Terrorists, if you're reading this (and I know you love VGChartz forums) I don't blame you for getting mad about us getting mad about this

Ohhhh come on they are OWNED by Sony (the first 3 games that is!)
I knew this was going to be PS exclusive!

As far a I know, they don't own the first three games. They made a deal with Universal for 3 games (which was later changed to 4 because of Crash Team Racing) after which the series went multiplatform.
