Check up the new 360 models. I have no RROD and my xbox is quiet as mouse. Same with my friends. Honestly I know only 1 person with old 360 model (2006) . No RROD so far, but the noise is high.

If I had more time to play games I would get a 360 for Ninja Gaiden 2, but the RROD issue would have to be fixed.

I am content with playing MGO beta, GT5, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma for now, and the way MGO plays I think MGS 4 will be a blast!

Dont get me wrong though, the 360 is a must have for kids with hours and hours of summer with nothing to do, cause you have so many great games to play.

@BrayanA - maybe you could link the source where MS states that the new 360's RROD issue has been fixed. I havent been able to find that info, and I would assume MS would make it well known.

Also if the loud fan is fixed than that is a great improvement also.

I think ps3 fanboys are blowing sales out of the water here.Whos to say that once ps3 reaches 18 million or less it wont slowly die off.What if these are people that own a 360 that want a ps3 and the casual audience is waiting for the cheapest hd console available.

The 360 will be cheapest due to its release and length of fine service.

I think the ps3 is just grabbing the hardcore audience now as the 360 did 2 years ago.In the end the 360 will rein supreme due to two years worth of quality titles the ps3 doesnt have.The ps3 regardless of one or two good exclusives will always play catch up in the games department.Especially with anything really worth playing going multi platform.

This is going to be a very close generation bluray is going to die off and dvd will sell slowly but still sell.

People nowadays download there dvds off torrents and dont want to bother with purchasing discs.Collectors and movie buffs will buy them and upload them for the rest of the world for free.

The days of the disc are coming to an end plain and simple.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens to Xbox 360 sales at $199.

And it would be even more intersting to see that price point for the PS3, considering that it's more expensive right now, yet outselling the 360

First. MS can't just declare that RROD is dead. If they do so, a lot of idiots will find a way to cause RROD only to say that MS are lying. Event if it's 0.1% you can't say it's 0. That is why MS just said that in new models RROD is minimal and will be far less then in previous versions. It is full of news, posts and so on in internet about this.

About the noise. New models are not only with quieter fan, but with quieter DVD drive too. All new models here are only with BenQ drives.

I suppose you also get to laugh at the PS3 if you're a PC gamer too... Actually the Wii is where you'll find the best complement to the PC strangly.
