Wii:
Pros -
Unique control scheme that can add new dimensions to game play.
Great first party support.
Economical price.

Cons -
Unique control scheme that's tacked on to games that don't need it.
Loads of rushed, "who knew it'd be a hit", games.
The price isn't so economical when you've bought the extra wiimotes and nunchuks required to exploit the games full at-home multiplayer experience.

360:
Pros -
Best library of games so far.
Good graphics.
Great online play.

Excellent media server.

2008 lineup not shooter centric

Cons -
Sounds like a jet plane taking off in your living room. (not with falcon imo)
Shooter-centric (The JRPGs released so far are getting more credit than they deserve due to a lack of competition.)

PS3:
Pros -
Good graphics, potential for more.
Best Blu-Ray player on the market.
Excellent media server.
A lot of good games on the way (about the same point in it's life cycle that the 360 got a bunch of good games). But only if you like shooters for the most part.

Cons -
Suffering from mediocre ports that don't gain from PS3 hardware.
Poor selection of titles.
Pricey.

2008 main exclusives shooter centric - MGS4, Haze, KZ2, RFOM2

Fixed

The fan noise kills 360 as a media server. I have a zephyr Elite though, so I can't compare with the Falcon.

MGS4 is not an FPS. Afrika? Little Big Planet? GT5 Prologue (fuller than some full games)? WKS and FF13... might make it out (slim chance). Tekken?

I will concede the addition of the 360's 2008 lineup being less shooter-centric than 2007 though. (I don't think it's possible to be more shooter-centric than 2007.)

Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Alan Wake, Infinite Undiscovery, Banjo Kazooie, Lost Odyssey and Tales.

The PS3 is more shooter-centric than the 360 this year.  But when the 360 does shooter-centric, it does it well.  Whether the PS3 does the same remains to be seen.

Why did you argue the one point I had conceded?

I am going to disagree with this statement.  I have a refurb early 07 console (RROD replacement) and the fan noise on this is much quieter then my 60gig PS3.  Once the PS3 goes into 2nd or 3rd stage fan speed it is very loud.  It's quite disappointing when watching a Blu ray movie and having this fan noise going on.  It only take about 10-15 minutes before it's up to the highest stage of fan speed and it doesn't let off the entire movie.  That totally negates that arguement vs the PS3 imho.

Now if we're talking about gaming the DVD drive on my X360 is a turbine and much louder then the PS3 even on full fan speed.

Ya I should have said system noise, not fan noise. Though even without the drive going my 360 is louder than my PS3. I have the Zephyr motherboard Elite 360 and I have the 60gb Hardware BC PS3 from launch. I wonder if any websites have done an in-depth decibel analysis of all the various 360 and PS3 models.

Buy a 360 because starcraft sez so. lol.

I agree with MrOuija here.   The (launch-window vintage) 360 system fan is quiet in comparison to its disc drive; the PS3 system fan is loud in comparison to the silence before it spins up.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

i dont really see a point in buying a 360 anymore.
all the games will eventually go on pc and sony is releasing exclusive games that are taking advantage of the blu ray and cell and we can see this with killzone 2 and resistance 2.

and yes the rrod is still there, and it appeared at GDC 08.

Your very biased towards the Xbox 360, really pathetic how you 360 fanboys keep begging for MGS4, Im telling you, it will never touch the Xbox 360. After MGS2's massive flop on the Xbox, you expect MGS4 to head to the Xbox?

Remember Metal gear solid 3 never went to Xbox, also its funny how you say only 3 games on the PS3 are must haves. There are games like God of war 3, Resistance 2, Little big planet, and even killzone 2 that have generated hype beyond your only Halo, and gears of war.

The Xbox 360's only good exclusives(as in only on the XBOX 360) are halo, and thats it, the rest are on PC.

THats the problem with the Xbox 360, all the AAA titles are on PC.

thats one of the reasons why i sold my 360 because i realised that most of the games that were kind of good all came out on me pc.

I didn't get the 360 for the same reason as I play the games i like on my PC(gears and bio),,,plus PC seems to be more reliable than 360(no over heating, disk scratching problems,...).these two really made the decision easy for me .Blu ray was just the icing on the cake.

Hey, this thread was a pretty good idea, starcraft. Would you mind doing one of these for the PS3? That would be awsome.

I'm pretty sure your being sarcastic (sometimes its a bit hard to tell with you).  But if your not, I wouldn't mind making a PS3 one later this month when I redo this 360 one.  I'd do it honestly, focusing on the console's strong points, but I'm still not sure anyone would take it seriously.

I am curious to know what you think the PS3's strong points are StarCraft. Can you just give us a quick list?
