Any piece of hardware's hype is completely unjustified until a price is known IMO.

first i'll buy a switch and after.. well a 1080ti and a i7 7700k ;P but yes scorpio is a great piece of hardware but all exclusives what dont have port to pc i already played ;/ , so for me is more useful to upgrade my pc.
Nope, there are no exclusives that would make it a good buy, and they're probably going to price it over $499, meaning you could build a PC for the same price that would perform on par or beat it and have major advantages like modularity, free online, much more options for accessories, running software outside of games...
But for someone looking for a high end console for multiplatform titles, it'll do great. However it isn't saving Microsoft from poor XBOX ONE sales by any means, mostly due to it's likely high price, and IMO not countering the PS4 Pro and waiting for next gen would have been a better move.
It looks do be able to do what they said it could, but the hype seemed to be much more than that. I feel they went nuts engineering this thing instead of just slapping new tech in an XB1 sized box, which is interesting. Its also a slight letdown, based specifically on the hype and rumors though, not what was actually shown. The 245w PSU is the most impressive to me. Pro is 310w. WOW.
The biggest question I have right now is how large is the overall shell of this thing? Is that outline around the internals supposed to indicate the shell size of the XB1 or the XB1S maybe?
Second question is price, but I think that $399 to $499 is a fairly safe range.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
Keeping in mind this is a console, i think Microsoft delivered and showed incredible engineering effort and care in making this Xbox's proof of concept kit.
This box will render games in DX12 4K, give or take, comparably to today's $900-1,000 gaming PC's if not more expensive PC's in cases thanks to the optimized environment.
For presumably half the cost, that's a great piece of kit for the console core gamer that wants the fanciest graphics in their livingroom environment.
PC I i7 3770K @4.5Ghz I 16GB 2400Mhz I GTX 980Ti FTW
Consoles I PS4 Pro I Xbox One S 2TB I Wii U I Xbox 360 S
The console itself is indeed very good. Now we need the price and maybe some games

it's very likely also an "evolved" polaris, as it was said that PS4 Pro has features beyond what's in standard polaris aswell |
There was the same talk for the standard PS4 and Xbox One hardware. At the end of the day, as Digital Foundry discovered, there is little indication the "improved architectures" are meaningfully faster than their off-the-shelf counterparts.
According to DF, direct x 12 utilizes the CPU very well and it takes less instructions compare to other machines to accomplish tasks. That's good to hear.
Personally it takes 3 things to hype me with a console.
1. Powerful
2. Price
3. Games
Scorpio is powerful but xbox doesn't have the games I want. I also have little faith the price will be appealing. Considering it only hits 1/3 for me I'm not very hyped.
