Ah so thats what you're trying to fish at. Why does it sound like I have an incomplete knowledge of Xbox games? Asking for an RPG doesn't count as a fresh new idea?

No, that's fine. It's just more difficult to talk shop about Halo, Gears, etc. with someone who hasn't played the latest installments. When you wrote "I heard 343 made a solid Halo game" it raised a red flag.

Anyway, I agree Xbox needs a huge boost in the arm in terms of fresh first-party content, both first-party-developed and first-party published. We just disagree about the specific studios and properties.

Do you need to have played Halo 5 to make a thread proposing a Halo RPG, did that game kill any chances for a RPG spinoff? Your questioning was just weird and out of place. I know that 343s Halo games polarized people and they certainly didn't make bad games like you're trying to portray, reviving an old franchise that people haven't been attached to like Halo could help people to judge them for making a great shooter or not instead of having them compare to Bungie's output. Tbh I dont care if 343 would make it or not, it just seemed appropriate to have their shooter studio that is under stress trying to live up to Bungie let off some steam by making something else. I said fresh new ideas because Halo 5 is the worst selling main title and having it be an rpg which is the hot thing right now, could make people excited for the IP again.

The great thing forward for MS would be to move on from Halo first person shootbang and Gears of 3rd person shootbang. I think they do have the talent, it's just that they're creatively restricted. Bungie left because of it.

Did I say you couldn't make a thread, Turkish?

Also, maybe you should take the time to actually play Halo before invalidating my opinion? I'd be happy to debate the pros and cons of the 343 era once you've actually experienced it firsthand.

It sounds to me like you're invalidating my opinion. "this guy didnt play Halo 5 so he can't propose for the studio behind it to work on another shooter franchise, he firsts needs to play their games which are in the high 80s on Meta to actually understand why they shouldnt revive a dormant IP", is really the issue here.

Perfect Dark 2, Killer instinct 3 (no outsource) and Banjo-Threeie.

No outsource?

Using 3rd parties isn't uncommon and we get great games from it.

Playtonic doesnt have poor design skills, they just cut corners and made a basic product with the budget they got. This thread assumes MS making and funding these games with full creative control at the devs. Funding unproven studios and concepts is exactly what it encourages MS to do.

You're comparing 343 with Bungie, 343 made their own version of Halo, they're not mechanically bad games if you dont compare them with Bungies output.

Last Xbox game I played was about a week ago, SMT Nine, yeah I'm an og Xbox fan from 1999 before we got to see the console. Why do you have to ask?

Based on reception, Yooka Laylee suffers from poor design. For example there was complaints about levels being too big, some levels being boring, the game being too long, boring mini games, this is bad design.

I've played Halo series recently on X1 and there Bungie releases are not nearly as good as you remember, I guarantee it. In fact, I'd say Halo 4 is arguably the best campaign for story telling and pacing.

I feel like Scalebound could still be alive (but I'm likely wrong). I mean MS owns it and a lot was done. Just put it in the hands of a more competent developer... like Rare.

The remake of Phantom Dust should have never existed. Few played the original, it was a critical success, rereleasing that should have been the original goal. The remake could have sucked, it could have been a Tony Hawk HD situation.

I'm hesitant to get into this, really, but hear we go: You don't outright say that Platinum is incompetent, but the implication is there. Why is this? Now, I'm not outright saying that incompetence on the part of Microsoft lead to the cancelation of Scalebound, but when I see the dev spitting outright vitriol at the publisher on social media months before the cancellation, and read that Microsoft was forcing a tacked-on multiplayer component into the game that had nothing to do with the original vision....You know what? That's exactly what I'm saying. Scalebound would have benefitted from being in the hands of a more competent publisher. And why Rare? Their recent history hasn't been that great. They're long removed from the status of "elite developer" that they once held. I'll put Platinum's track record since their inception up against Rare's, and I think Platinum would come out ahead in most peoples eyes.

Maybe I wasn't being fair, perhaps Scalebound was just put in the hands of a shitty arm of Platinum.

Every single game for the Scorpio is a game that will be able to run on the OG XBONE, unless MS intends for both to lose ground to the PS4 more than it is already doing. So games not made _for_ the Scorpio but be made for the entire XBONE ecosystem.

Given that I want more RPGs. It's really the only genre I care about. I want more RPGs. If possible exclusive RPGs. If not so, I want at least the best version of the RPGs than the other platforms.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

Microsoft can't make games for the Scorpio. They make games for the Xbox one and then optimize them for the Scorpio without giving one console too much of an edge over the other. The Xbox one will hold the Scorpio back just like the PS4 holds the pro back.

With the way they designed Xbox Scorpio to run old Xbox One games and XBox360 games and with the optimization for current game engines- and the extra ram, really, anything will look amazing.

I would personally buy this console even if they announced nothing for this year its just that good for me, its the one-in-all console that finally tops my ancient desktop at this point and it looks like its going to be small and very power efficient too, just wow.

Anyway, obviously I would like to see some new cool single player games along with all the co-op and multiplayer stuff xbox is just best at. I am a big racing fan so I know Microsoft can never dissapoint me with their 2 great forza series we have running.

Anwyay the hype is real, E3 is around the corner and if they have the games too just wow, this might just become my fav. console since a long time, I love the power focus personally and the PS4 pro just didn't do it for me but what digital foundry showed the extra ram and especially just all the pre-work software and hardware balancing from Microsoft is on a new level.

-Fable sequel

-Banjo 3, by Playtonic, with a bigger budget and better engine they can make a great game

-Perfect Dark by 343, give them some time off from Halo and let them work on this neglected shooter franchise

-Lost Odyssey 2, in a world where Nier Automata and Persona 5 are selling millions this won't go as unnoticed as in 2008, and now that it'll be on PC it will do even better

-Elder Scrolls style new IP by Bethesda

-Gears of War survival horror spinoff where u dont play as a human tank but a vulnerable civilian escaping the locust, call it Horrors of War

Fix'd. I really want Bethesda to create a non TES RPG with a good combat system like FFXV. I really want to see if a Western company is willing to make a Bayonetta/FFXV/DMC style combat system without relying on hack and slashes.

I also think with some luck, Phantom Dust HD might become our version of Persona. Hopefully.
