Super Bomberman R has an online mode, you don't need the app for it. There are matches versus random players with various rule customisation options. It also has some kind of ranking system. I haven't tried playing versus friends yet, unfortunately. It's a bit laggy, but Konami promised a patch somewhere down the line.

Remember, the online is free right now. Bomberman R online features will most likely be locked behind the paid service.

I think there won't be any new features. I'm not even sure that game needs anymore, tbh. What kind of features could be added in your opinion?
