Total:118

ok... bold prediction time!!!!!

over the course of the year so far, monthly global sales have something like this. For january and febuary

PS4: Jan(1019k)     Feb(1092k)

XB1:  Jan(331k)      Feb(437k)

From the above we can say the PS4 has been outselling the Xb1 globally 3:1 in january and around 2.2:1 in febuary.

This isn't taking into account any boost in sales from a game like Horizon because its not yet covered in the VGC weekly charts (current charts ends at 25th feb).

So my bold prediction..... PS4 to hit 60M (currently at 55.9M) befor XB1 hits 30M (currently at 28.7M).

What say you???!!!

Basing a prediction on VGC numbers is tricky. Right now the PS4 is overtracked, so if an adjustment is made within the next three months, it's not going to look good for your prediction. On the other hand, the XB1 might as well be also overtracked, but since Microsoft doesn't provide any numbers, there's not much of a reason to worry about a downwards adjustment.

No adjustments would mean that the PS4 needs to outsell the XB1 by slightly over 3:1 (according to VGC numbers) in the next few months which I'd say is possible, but the whole thing feels hollow because we'll probably never learn which thing happened first.

Fuck reason!!!! its a bold prediction for a reason dammit...

vote!!!

so after March, X1 may have around 800k to go, Sony roughly 2.8m?

Would give X1 the edge. PS4 should be above 1m in April and May, Xbox should be around 400k or so.

they may both be overtracked though

Hmm
From about the same time period last year the PS4 had 38.9m and it took just under 5 months for it to get to 42.9m which is around 4m.
From about the same time period last year the xb1 was at 20m. It took about 2 months for it to sell 1.7m to reach 21.3m
So if they sell around the same units like they did last year it will take the XB1 2 months to reach 30m and the PS4 just under 5 months to reach 60m. So i'll go with the bone.

The XB1 would need ot sell 1.3m to reach 30m. Its at 28.7m now. The PS4 would need to sell 4.1m to reach 60m its at 55.9m now.

Depends on if Xbox One is slightly overtracked or not... I think it is, however even if it does we ll never know.
MS doesnt give out sales numbers.

its not like we have anything that will boost x1 sales anytime soon. while a couple for ps4 are coming.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I dont think its a bold prediction, xbox one sales have completely stopped it seemed and ps4 pro is doing really well and all the exclusives this year have reviewed well.

Expect it to happen, ps4 will dominate the market this entire generation, the switch will proberbly beat the Xbox too in worldwide sales because of Japan and Europe.

A small comeback in the US and UK might happen for Microsoft but 2:1 is going to be set in stone, maybe even higher if sony keeps getting so many japanese developed games as exclusive.

I think the XB1 sales are way lower this year than they were last year. I could be wrong though, but it just feels that way going off amazon threads. At least last year there was always an XB1 sku hovering round the top 30. This year its barely even breaking the top 100. And we of course have horizon early this year to boost sales.

This is a bold prediction damit!!!

and its not even about it happenning or not. we all know its going to happen. pretty much gauranteed as long as the PS4 keeps outselling the XB1. This is about if the PS4 gets to 60M before the XB1 gets to 30M...... according to VGC of course.

Well everything possible indicates sony has a chance to do it.

1) PS4 Pro is a huge success
2) PS4 has the best exclusives early on this year and a shit-ton of them
3) Xbox One has the worst possible start of the year, with one exclusive not many people cared about
4) With low Mass Effect Andromeda scores, other open world games like Nier, Zelda and Horizon will automatically get more attention
5) The Xbox Scorpio will make people interested in a Microsoft console hold off their purchase untill somewhere at the end of the year
