Aren't you jumping the gun by predicting it will fail?

Talk about double standards.

No, I'm offering a reasonable alternative to all this hype.

What???

That is as ridiculous as the people who use the terms "fake news" or "alternative facts".

It's not an alternative. Many people are claiming this thing will flop easily. The thread will provide no useful discussion about the switch.

Meh. I don't think most people care about power. They just want games. If the Switch can garner 3DS/Wii/DS level support, it should do well despite being weaker.

The 3DS is actually a somewhat poor seller compared to previous Nintendo handhelds. The smart phones have taken away much of the portable market. I think that trend will continue to strengthen.

Let's continue this discussion in a year. I think you will see that I have valid points then. The usefulness, well possible usefulness, of this post is that it could help convince ppl to not throw away hard earned money for something that is likely to be a short lived fad.

The question is, do we really need more discussion about this?

I'm sorry, but I think this attempt is just as unnecessary as the last one.

Ppl think I'm overdoing it now, but many of you may wish you'd listened to my side of this Switch debate when so much money has been spent and so little satisfaction has been had. I could be wrong, but I am passionate about this. Nintendo did ppl wrong with Wii U.

Why does this thread exist

Nintendo had success with underpowered handhelds since handhelds were invented. Nobody cares about the hardware when the games are fun and unique. Nintendo has proven again and again. And the Switch has a stellar first year in games - something the Wii U lacked...

Yesterday, I saw someone saying the Switch is a success only 2 weeks in, and today, I now see this.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

It seems too weak to last very long. Scorpio and PS5 will come. Switch is weaker than a regular XB1. Too many major 3rd parties will not release big games on Switch. Smart phones keep getting more powerful and will please the casual gamers. I suspect sales will dwindle badly within 2 years at the longest. I think the only reason it is doing so well is that the Nintendo megafans, new tech buyers, and casuals--with disposable income--looking for something original are buying them up. Once these buyers are satisfied, I predict things will go downhill for sales.

this is literally the same reason you gave last time

I tell you what Platina. It seems everyone is against me trying to help convince them to not waste their money on the Switch that I will make this my last Switch post for 6 months. I'd hate to see so many throw away money on an overpriced and underpowered system that I think will disappoint. After Nintendo screwed over Wii U owners, the thought makes me mad.
