Forums - Gaming - Flash's Talk Show #1: Games with insane value proposition.

March 17th, 2017

I'm sarting a new series of threads, touching on seemingly random questions and topics, because I have absolutely nothing to do for a week and a half.

Games with insane value proposition. I'll start the list off two games.

1) The Orange Box.

This collection of Valve games included Half-life 2 (along with both of it's dlc's), Team Fortress 2, and the newcomer, Portal. The catch here is that two of these three games were brand-new. There was argubly no weak link in this collection, with each game being awesome in it's own right.

2) Rare Replay

When someone says "30 games for 30 dollars" you probably picture a shovelware Wii title with 30 half-assed minigames, not a compilation of past games made by one of the best developers back in it's time. Even though not all the games are great, the timeless classics in there like Banjo, Conker, and Perfect Dark make this one of the best steals in history imo.

Thoughts? Also, are there any other games anyone can think of?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Any of the EDF games. Especially EDF 4.1: The Shadow Of New Despair. If you like it, and get hooked, your PS4/PC could become your EDF machine.

- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."

No one? Bummer.

Games that embrace mods. I'm replaying Fallout 4 right now with a survival sim mod that overhauls much of the game. This is easily going to end up as my most played game and eclipse Skyrim.

Skyrim, of course, is another one. I downloaded a vampire overhaul mod and pretty much played from start to finish as a vampire.

I don't know about "insane", but I was really impressed by Bayonetta 2 packing the original in with all of their games.

UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection ~18$
- Uncharted 1
- Uncharted 2
- Uncharted 3

The Telltale Games Collection ~64$

- The Walking Dead: Season Two
- The Wolf Among Us
- Tales from the Borderlands (Episodes 1-3 available now, Episodes 4-5 to be released periodically)
- Game of Thrones – A Telltale Games Series (Episodes 1-5 available now, Episode 6 to be released periodically)

BioShock: The Collection ~30$

- BioShock 1, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, with all add-on content, “Columbia’s Finest” pack, and Director’s Commentary.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection ~15$

- Definitive versions of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, tons of custom packs, and dlc.

I mean, Minecraft lets you do almost anything for $15.

If only the graphics were better...

At the time The Orange Box was such good value.

But now, TF2 on its own represents infinite value being free and a top multiplayer FPS

I've spent almost 400h with Hyrule Warriors...

Other adequate mentions: Xenoblade Chronicles X and Smash Bros.
