You are not the only person obsessed with Zelda.

So wait...

In BotW, the 4 Champions - 2 out of 4 of which are male - get their asses kicked and die, Link has to go heal his booboos for 100 years, but Zelda goes one on one with Ganon for that whole century and is STILL STANDING...and this game is sexist?  xD

The Gerudo hate voe and that's still not enough for them.

Isn't the story that it was Link who needed rescuing while Zelda has been fighting Ganon alone for the past 100 years?

They just act like they know a lot about games when in reality she's just trying to get a big, fat paycheck.

I honestly don't know who's worse- conservative conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones or ultra left wing groups like feminist frequency

Imo, there are few things more vile than "rights groups" or "activists" who rather than being true representatives of their people's interest merely stir the pot to exploit their outrage for profit.  It's especially disgusting when it is a racial or gender thing vs class because there's something especially grotesque when you are part of the group you so exploit (assuming the "activist" in question is of the race/gender they claim to speak for), it's like cannibalism. I mean it's one thing for, say, a rich guy to so exploit the poor.  But when a black person or woman exploits others of the same race or gender...There's just something skin crawlingly reptilian about that.

But enough ranting, let's keep this positive.

Anita's analysis of the series has always been superficial. To summarize it as "damsel in distress" is ridiculous. Zelda is the descendent of a goddess; the deities in the series are goddesses; the Gerudo tribe is a strong matriarchy which turns the tables on historical gender roles by treating men as sex objects until their rare Gerudo man is born; and Zelda always has a much more central role in confronting Ganon than Link. Link comes along either per her whim/plans or after Ganon is quite weakened by her. Breath of the Wild was the most Zelda-centric game in the series which highlights her real problems as a princess, and a decendant of a deity. Considering that Hyrule is a feudal society, that is quite amazing. Anita really needs to go back to school and learn some history that isn't filtered through the gender studies or women's studies departments.

Can someone please shut her up? -_-

I'd shut her up, but I don't want to be accused of rape by the sjw's.

33 years as a gamer and I have not played a better game than Breath of the wild. The only drawback is that all open world games I play from now on will be judged against this benchmark. I really hope Xenoblade 2 pushes it close.

Ive not been into and felt this way about a game since FF7, the excitment of picking up again and seeing what awaits, epic.

There's a npc in the game who keeps hitting on Link lol this game couldnt be anymore unsexist.

A new Zelda game is always an event for me, but I'm not sure I've ever been so bewitched by a Zelda title, or any other title for that matter.

I woke up early twice this week to play before work, and then logged another three hours each evening. I think I have 14 hours played between Monday and today.

Any WiiU or Switch owners feeling the same? For non-Zelda fans, what games stole you away to another world and refused to let go?

Everytime I think I'm about done I discover something new. Right now I'm working my way through the side quests.

lol weird how this industry and hobby full of raging misogynists all adored Horizon.

Also, Zelda saved Link at one point as well.

I'm obsessed. My wife is calling Zelda my "other woman", but that's fine since she bought her for me

The game is just so ground breaking, so next-level while at the same time being completely classic. I haven't enjoyed an experience like this since I was a kid. It's like a grown up version of Zelda 1, and pretty much perfect.
