Forums - Gaming - Jim Sterling’s site under attack after Zelda: BotW review

That's pretty petty and childish. I wonder if these console partisans realize that behavior like this -- and also whining about a game from a rival system getting a high score -- only makes "clickbait" reviews more common and makes reviewers less likely to articulate an honest opinion.

I hope the people on VGChartz lambasting Nintendo/Zelda fans for behaving like petulant children will hold PS, Xbox, and PC fanatics to the same standards, when they inevitably complain about a 7/10 for The Last of Us Part II or a 5/10 for Halo 6. Remember this is a fanboy problem, not a Nintendo or Sony problem. Point out immaturity, ignorance, and fanaticism in all its forms, lest this console war cycle begins anew.

This really is a weird predicament. I mean it was his opinion to give it a 7 who cares if you love the game. I love the game so I surely don't and I have nothing but free time right now. I don't go off attacking sites for no reason because i'm bored. I play zelda and if you are a fan go do that. It still got the most amount of perfect scores so who cares if its 97 98 100 or even if it got a 60 or 50 even. I mean a lot of people didn't enjoy satr fox zero and gave it bad reviews but I got my moneys worth and it was an enjoyable game for me that does not mean I hack the review sites because they gave it a small score

It's all about implementation and how much it detracts from the rest of the game. Also how useless it is. Taking away stamina and durability from the game would do nothing to the enjoyment of the game, in contrary.

Oh man, I couldn't disagree more. I wouldn't lose much sleep over ditching durability, but taking away the stamina wheel would be like playing a classic Resident Evil game with unlimited ammo.

Ofc EVERYONE is entitled to his opinion. We mustn't judge that. What i find harsh, is to take action beyond that by doing personal attacks (ie: you suck), or attacking sites/accounts because you find his opinion not in your taste and liking...

Maybe if we locked them up together with their amiibo collections?  Kind of a Battle Royale situation where only the strongest amiibo user gets to live.

See, that sounds like 10/10 entertainment to me.

HAH?  More like 11/10.

I'd DDoS this website over your insult but people would think it's just a normal day on VGC.

Man, you must really hate all previous Zelda games because of their lack of stamina wheel.

Sure is his opinion, but i think he is a total moron. If you don't like the game give some valid reason according to your previous reviews. He doesn't likes the stamina bar, but yet in the dark souls series it's ok. "Pausing" the game to change weapons it's bad, but in fallout 4 it's great.

See the hackers are stupid but the reasons some reviews give are also stupid. Sure swapping weapons is annoying but the stamina bar is an essential part without which you wouldn't need to work your way to get to those higher places and it would also take away the way you capture horses. Basically without the stamina bar a lot of gameplay mechanics would fall out of place and its not something anyone whose played it complains about according to my knowledge and 40+ hours experience anyway

Previous Zelda games weren't built around climbing so they didn't need them.

So you suggest to subtract  a part of what makes combat, climbing, swimming and gliding fun ? I mean I wouldn't have to plan anything when doing these things if it was the case, which would make the game less than rewarding about how you approach certain situations there.

Guess I'm gonna disagree on this part.

Yeah, I remember all the complaints about A Link to the Past where Link could swim indefinitely and even hat those crazy boots with which he could run forever. Totally broke the game and all of the immersion. Oh and remeber that other Zelda game that was every that's every Zelda game ever made? Dark times.

Fact is, if this game had come with no stamina or durability, no one would've complained about it and it probably would've gotten an even higher score as it seems it's a major sticking point for reviewers.
