I will admit that in VR, it's probably as scary as you claim, but that's more the technology. If some of these other horror games were in ultra realistic virtual reality, I'd easily call them scarier. In a way it's the scariest, but not because it deserves the title.

The Silent Hill series will probably blow this away the moment they make a virtual reality horror game. Those silly indie horror games with like one monster chasing you don't even really count. Things that rely entirely on jump scares are garbage.

With Konami behind the wheel? That is not happening any time soon.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

For me nothing and I mean NOTHING will ever beat out Silent Hill 2. THAT is a freaking masterpiece and it desperately needs a PS4 remake!

I absolutelly love Silent Hill 2. But to me RE7 still manages to squeeze more of the proverbial horror lemon.

I wouldnt go as far as to say its the best horror game ever, but it is the best horror game since the first Dead Space.Period.

They really have crafted something really special with this.Hopefully with this Capcom learns that not every game needs to be action packed and some performs much better if they keep it close to their roots, both critically and sales wise. And also, you know, keeps it catalogue diverse, which is always positive.

With any luck, this marks a turning point for Capcom to become again the developer it once was, one that always developed quality game no matter the title, not one that which quality output seems like a rollercoaster ride.

I agree, they tried so many things with RE and Dead Rising, lately it was almost like a dog chasing his own tail. But somehow, a masterpiece came of this, RE7.

In all honesty I can not decide which one was more horrifying, RE7 or SH2. Both are up there, both are absolutly amazing experiences and both achieve the scares on totally different levels.

If RE makes at least 5 million units, Konami will probably make a new Silent Hill. But since the last one was shut down, this probably means that anything Silent Hill is at least 2 years away...

Even if they made a new one, I doubt that it would be anywhere close to good.If Downpour and the new Super Bomberman R games are anything to go by, they either dont have enough talent inside the company for that, or Konami just wont give enough budget or force things into it(I wouldnt be surprised if it had soem type of microtransaction in it) that wouldnt give the game a fighting chance.

PS:Dont get me wrong, Bomberman seems like a fun game, but the game could have been much better, tried and pushed things further, and looked much better.

Nope, that's Silent Hill.

No game has scared me like that game did.

Same here, not even close. It is like 5,6 solid scares for every hour of gameplay and a constant feeling of fear.

Yeah, there was alot of moments of me looking down at the ground out of fear ha

Yeah RE7 on psvr on the ps4 pro is the ultimate gaming horror experience right now. It's an absolute must for hardcore horror fans.

I thought I was a horror hardcore fan. And it takes a lot to scare me. But turns out after 2h in PSVR, I decided to play the rest of the game in normal mode, cause it was so terrifying I feared dying or going insane.
