It's hard to have exclusives for the Scorpio when the Xbox One itself nearly has no exclusives.

The point of this whole thing still seems shrouded in mystery to me.
I hope to see more clearly once we get closer to release.

That kind of IS a mystery, though.
People are not magically going to want a system from the Xbox One family, and the games associated with it, just because it's a bit more powerful.

Unless the devs just want to make the original build on One and beef it up for Scorpio?. So the target consumer would ideally just want improved resolutions and FPS, much like what PS4 offers but on a higher scale. Interesting move. I'm however more interested in Windows 10 support. |
It'll just be the same as PS4 Pro but higher resolution:
Pro: 1800p - Scorpio: Native 4k
Pro 1440p - Scorpio: 1800p

Do hope it launches with some big exclusive (Xbox exclusive, not Scorpio exclusive ) games though. Haven't heard much about what they've got in the pipeline for awhile now, let's hope that's because they've been saving stuff to launch alongside the Scorpio. So at E3 when they finally announce the details they can announce some big games launching alongside (and bundled with) it. |
Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves & State of Decay 2.
Doubt they'd announce anything launching this year at e3.

Didn't they do that for Halo MCC? So it's possible, especially if they really want to push the Scorpio launch. And that's only 3 games, that's really not much. Surely they must have a fair bit being worked on that they haven't announced yet. |
Forgot the annual Forza release, Forza 7.
But sure they have a fair bit being worked on, just stuff that won't release this year. I don't think there's any unnanounced AAA exclusives launching in 2017.
What was Microsoft going to develop for the Scorpio anyway? They are still unproven as far as internally developed exclusives are concerned. It's better this way. Same gen, same games.

Why increase the power 4x fold if games are still being held back so significantly by older hardware? Why not make this a new generation? Seems like a waste of hardware power to me. Scorpio will indeed be the equivalent to the Ps4 Pro, going by Phils statements.
Great time to be on PC though

Even if this was the Xbox 2 this would still apply. Its been only 3 years since Xbox One came out and it has 1 new Halo and 1 new Gears. Making exclusives for a new platform in 2017 would be suicide.
Beyond that PS4 will remain the base platform for a few years yet, so third party games were all going to be held back. Phil specifically talks about launch here and his rhetoric feels very different from sony, so I wouldn't right off the idea of Scorpio being its own platform, but not recieving its own exclusives til 2019.
Of course there will be no exclusives. Many people would never buy an Xbox again in their life if there were exclusive games. It would be a betrayal of all existing Xbox One owners.
