What Architectures will be used

Jaquar + Polaris (PS4Pro) 7 25.00%

Puma + Polaris 2 7.14%

Zen + Polaris 6 21.43%

Zen + Vega 8 28.57%

Other 5 17.86%

Total:28

So we know some facts:

320GB/s GDDR5X Memory | 8 Cores | at least 6Tflops GPU Performance

The RYZEN has been released and is a competitor at the desktop from and there have been rumours going on about the Xbox Scorpio using this processor. If the rumours turn out to be true the Xbox Scorpio could potentially be almost a "full blown next gen" machine which multiple developers have stated at, like todays quite from warner bros

"We've been launch games on next-gen systems since the [Xbox] 360," Matt Allen, director of technical art at Monolith, tells TechRadar. "Launch titles don't scare us at all."

Allen describes Monolith and Microsoft's working relationship as "fantastic" – both are based in Seattle, for starters – but what about the actual Project Scorpio hardware?

"So far, we really like it," Allen says. "I don't know how much they've revealed the specs, but it is an upgrade. It's not just sort-of, 'We're going to upgrade some stuff.' There's things you can do with it. So, we're pretty excited to be working with them specifically."

Now there are even rumours of a new VEGA architecture being used, which is only being released next year, instead of the Polaris.

Even Tough these rumours are all they are... rumours AMD has confirmed that someone COULD launch a ZEN+Vega core in 2017, altough very unlikely. Now the ultimate question isn't if this console is going to be more powerfull then the PS4, because it is, since its launching a year later. But if it will use one or even two new architectures to be a full blown next gen machine with a strong legacy towards the xbox one in terms of software.

You decide! Voting begins :)

The CPU must be low-level compatible so probably the same cores, just with the option of higher clock-rates. Maybe they'll get a die shrink and we see Jaguar cores at 14nm?

AMD told Laptop Mag "we expect to see Ryzen in the mobile space in the second half of 2017."

Perhaps Scorpio is getting one of those lower powered/custom variants, since the window makes sense.

"AMD Ryzen processors for desktops are expected to be available beginning in Q1 2017 and AMD Ryzen notebook processors are planned to launch in 2H 2017. "

Why? PC games also run with different CPUs or CPU families

Don't know, I just hope they will go the "every Scorpio game will also have to run on standard XBO" but with the exception that this will stop when the next Xbox releases, so that games for the "Xbox 4" can run on the new Xbox and Scorpio and then we will get a Scorpio 2 which will be a better "Xbox 4" with the same rules and so on...

PC games do not have lower access to the hardware

THe Scorpio has been confirmed (by multiple sources) to just run the PC version of games from UWP, whatever they use to emulate the Xbox One the scorpio they will manage it, it will most likely not feature a Jaquar soc, it could use a PUMA, which is in the same processor family but the Zen would be immensly faster because its an actual dedicated gaming processor instead of a laptop low-end processor.

And a much more powerfull peace of hardware should be able to do anything, its still a long shot tough.
