Gears of War 2. Mgs can lmb.

Calling Wii Fit a game is the same as calling Home a game.

To be honest it would be a crime if Mario Kart got game of the year too from what I've seen. Brings absolutely nothing new to the series.

It's going to be between Gears 2, GTA 4 and MGS 4.

I think there's a few on that list you can already scratch out, I think you have the nominees in there but a few titles which really don't belong ( like Warhammer).

If I had to name 4 right now I would pick in no particular order :

 - Starcraft 2

- MGS4

- GTA IV

- WoW WoLK if it comes out this year.

GTA or MGS4. My guess is, if everything goes like it looks, that by the end of the year the PS3 will have a huge head of steam, while the 360 will start to fall off a lot.

While Gears2 is a strong contender, people don't often give GoTY to dying consoles. (why God of War 2 had no shot of winning last year)

So, if the 360 is still going strong by Jan 09, then I say Gears2. If not, GTA4 or MGS4.

My guess, GTA4

I really doubt that GTA4 or MGS4 will be GOTY because they are being released too early in the year. Everyone will forget about them by the time GOTY awards are decided.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it will be whatever the big Nintendo announcement is, which I think is either new Zelda or Starfox. Other possible GOTY in my opinion are Starcraft 2, Spore, and Fable 2.
