Forums - Nintendo - Breath of the wild: Anyone run into any glitches yet?

A minor one really.

The horse usually actually has pretty good AI, especially when you're sticking to roads, but just now I broke it. I called my horse, stupidly, while being in a spot the horse couldn't possibly reach. It was a bit above the water, and while normally the horse stops in time so it doesn't fall in, it now slipped or something and fell down into the river. When you manage to get your horse into the water it normally finds it's own way to a part where it can climb out, no matter where that might be, however now it apparently glitched and the poor animal just kept swimming from one side of the river to the other and back endlessly. I tried to push it somewhere else, even tried to use a raft, but no luck. Poor thing, I saved it by reloading the game.

Not yet. The game seems to be very polished. I can see the climbing becoming an issue but thats just an assumption.

I have spent over 50 hours in the game so far; No glitches found (framerate aside).
On another note: you can ride deer.

Least you were able to save it!

I was fighting the final boss in a certain dungeon, and he disappeared (as part of his attack) and never reappeared (although I could hear the sound of his attacks and see certain attacks.) Eventually he did reappear though, but I still died anyway. Other than that I have not experienced any bugs.

I was chasing a boar got close and it just disappeared , same thing happened with a horse, but apart from frame rate that's all .

Several (docked)

- Drops to 20fps in areas with a lot of grass.
- Severe slowdown and freezes while fighting tall enemies with giant swords. If both me and the enemy are swinging swords at each other near objects / walls the physics engine seems to have a tough time keeping up with all the interactions.
- One system crash in the map screen, restart console.
- One 30 second freeze in a seemingly normal battle while attacking a camp.
- Physics going haywire moving a ball with a chain attached with magnetism, zipping around out of control.

This is over the course of 30 hours of playing, 99% of the time it runs perfectly. The only minor issue I have is with the left analog stick. It's too easy to accidentally click while circle strafing enemies with the shield up. Accidentally crouching cancels the shield which means instant death in most cases. It's my number one cause of death. I wish you could remap that.

Funny you mention the crouching thing, I've done that multiple times by accident when I'm trying to run from a really strong monster like the guardians lol.

Same here, happens to me a lot when running away.

I might have just found one. It could be a mechanic the black bokoblins have, but every time I killed them and they dropped their weapons, it just disappeared. Which is really annoying because they use high level weapons, and I hadn't used them before (so they're missing from my encyclopedia).

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

None for me. Just a few moments of a bit of a drop in the frame rates.

I experienced three shrine related glitches:

Several fully completed shrines did not allow to warp to them unless I manually walked there and activated the door again.

And one Shrine, Mo'a Keet, does not show the 'all chests found' item but the only chest is emptied. I did not read the introductory text in this one and solved it in an unusual way by throwing all the stones to the entrance area using stasis to prevent them from respawning. It took a long time and I died and fell into the lava a lot after collecting the chest, so maybe the tracking got mixed up (the game usually autosaves after opening the last chest). There does not seem to be another chest but the icon on the map does not show up.

And in one of the earlyer shrines the locked door opening animation was shown while walking around. I did not realize how to solve the shrine yet and was surprised because I only was throwing some bombs. But the door stayed closed, somehow just  the animation was triggered. Maybe it was my fault and the mechanics worked correctly, I cannot remember the details.

Im so confused. I thought if anything Docking it would have boosted the System's specs and enabled smoother playing.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
