Forums - Gaming - The console which is most valuable/most precious to you?

The title says it all.

Mine was the Xbox 360. My brother got one at launch at 2005. It only got replaced by Janruary 2015 when I wanted to get Dying Light.  For almost ten years felt like the console was growing up alongside me, and was sort of an integral part of my life. At launch, my brother got one game- Call of Duty 2. The final game I got for it was Farcry 4 in the December of 2014. Between them we got so many games.....too many to count. Burnout paradise, Skate 1,2,3, Halo 3 and reach, tomb raider, crackdown, state of decay, dead rising 1&2, Forza 3,4, horizon, horizon 2, saints row 3&4, Cod Modern Warfare and Modern warfare 2, BO1&BO2, GTA 4&5, Farcry 3&4, Assassins creed Black Flag, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3&new vegas, Gears of war 2,3, Red dead Redemption, Portal 2, Minecraft, Terraria, Braid, Geometry wars, Rayman legends, the orange box, sonic all stars racing transformed, and many more that I can't even remember right from the top of my head right now.

So,what console is most valuable/most precious to you?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Snes. Not only is the console I enjoyed the most, to this day I still consider many Snes games as the best of their frachise and It aged fantastically well. I'd consider it the best console in history of console gaming.

Right now I only own the PS4 but I feel more connected with the Xbox brand because I am mainly a pc gamer and I love the crossplay stuff, anyway its a hard choice historically I have loved Sega and Nintendo a lot and then switched to sony after the Gamecube and Dreamcast.

Altough I have always liked Sony's platform its mostly because of third party exclusives more then their own efforts except for the excellent games from Naughty Dog I skip most of them.

Anyway Nintendo lost me when they went a different direction with the Wii and I did really really like the Gamecube, it had some amazing Metroid, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bro's and Mario Party games which where all hits and it also had the first amazing wireless controller, excellent for 4 player co-op parties.

But then again the Dreamcasts life was short but Shenmue, Powerstone, Grandia, Sonic, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur

and all those games when everyone around me was still on old ps1 hardware or had to play the horrible launch line up from ps2.

Yeah I guess Dreamcast is the one that wins for me! ;)

PS1.

It made me love gaming.

I enjoyed my previous consoles (Atari 2600, NES, SNES) but, outside of FF6, the games were mostly shallow experiences. They were something to play around with and kill some time. The PS1, on the other hand, opened up new worlds, took me new places, and really got me immersed in what I was doing.

My favourite console is the DS, but the console I have the fondest memories with is the GBA. So many good games in so little time, and all the time in the world to actually play them.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'd say my Master System, since it was the first console system I was given as a child and even though it's sitting in storage, I can't see myself giving it away or dumping it. Same goes for my multiple Game Gears.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

None. They're all easily replaceable.

If I had to say probably my PS3.

PS3. It has a bluray player, I bought it used for 90€ and its perfect for the bedroom.

The Super Nintendo was my childhood system so I'll always have nostalgia for it.

PlayStation 2 would be close though as when I really came to appreciate gaming more.

Very tough, but I think I may go with PS3. I've played games my whole life since being given a brick Game Boy in preschool, but it wasn't until the PS3 that I started to have the money to buy games whenever I wanted, so it ended up being the console I own the most games for. I think PS4 will probably outshine it ultimately, as it's so far had more and more stuff I've really loved, whereas among my 60~ PS3 games there are only a handful I really hold dear. But the PS3 set me on my current Sony-loving try everything track that's gotten me much more invested in gaming as a whole, and it'll always hold a special place in my heart.

But also to be fair to the PS4, I still have my download of PT, so that console is worth its weight in gold.
