It's breaking sales records so no

Not sure it matter's, they knew that the fan base make up the core of early adopters so having Zelda front and centre with a selection of smaller games was enough.

Talking about holding off to the next holidays ,I don't think it would make much difference, the people buying it then would be the same people buying it today, you might pick up a few more holiday gift sales but at the cost of 8 months worth of sales, and depending on when they started manufacturing and sales forecast's they might be supply constrained.

More games doesn't necessarily mean even distribution, all it would most likely do is add to the feast or famine publishing cycle we see now, where the holidays and march/ april seem to be hot spots , rather than even out the games through the year.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Hijacking redundant thread for an information aimed @Switch owners:

Japanese rhythm game VOEZ seems to be the 2nd best launch title behind BoTW.

Looks and sounds great. A review: https://www.destructoid.com/review-voez-422159.phtml

You can launch with as many games as you want it's what's worth playing. So IMO they are equal and I don't even own a switch but I did own a PS4 on launch day. Also I said "just about" so while PS4 was slightly better it wasn't that much better.

I got Zeruda on my Wii U, so for me there's nothing. I cancelled my Switch pre-order.

Oh ok I understand then. Yea it sucks for people like you. Reminds me of the PS3 owners who were pissed at all the remasters. Meanwhile I had a 360 last gen so I loved all the remasters and I was getting so many great games.

Welp, Nvidia announces successor of chip in Switch, coming Q2 2017 http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=226632&page=1#

Had they only delayed the Switch until the holidays...

It would've been hotter, less reliable and more expensive?

OK *this* is a fair point, that said there's no gauruntee Nintendo would've used it.

That said if delaying to fall meant they could've used this chip instead ... then I agree ... Nintendo made a mistake. It won't stop the Switch from doing very well though.

Err, the new chip delivers 2x the performance at 15W.

"NVIDIA says the Jetson TX2 can either offer twice the performance of the older model… or twice the power efficiency."

So we'd likely get games at locked 1080p in docked.

Still more expensive.  :)

The Switch's launch is a mess. Offers barely big games until the end of 2017 (unless you consider 50-60 dollar minigames/indiegames/direct ports to be big). Lots of hardware and software issues. No multimedia apps like Netflix or Spotify, no internet browser, goes back to friendcodes. It's also way too expensive for the technology and line-up it's offering. All these things could be solved if they waited until the end of 2017. They could make it on par with X1 by removing HD Rumble and therefore expect more support from other studios.

I think most Switch buyers are ignoring the future of Switch because of Zelda and most will be disappointed eventually. Splatoon 2, Mario, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are mostly for the die-hard Nintendo gamer. You need to  offer a big variety of games to all sorts of gamers, not just one.

Since when has mario ever been a hardcore game...?
