Forums - Nintendo - So apparently BOTW has no audio options

As someone who almost always turns off background music in games, I dislike watching people attack the OP over this. There is no reason to fight against options.

Hey, I was looking for a brightness option. Looking at BotW is like looking directly into the sun! No option, though. Not on the console and not in the game.

Press and hold the menu button to access a Quick settings (it can be done anywhere)

I meant to say on my TV. The brightness setting is portable mode, only.

0/10!

Well Now Nintendo is just actively trying to piss me off. A slider for this but not for audio-.-. They seem to be very selective in their omission of features.

If they gave you those audio options, you'd expect them to give you language options to change voice and subtitles or graphics option to play 720p in dock mode.

Nintendo is no, no, no, remember? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=225741

We can work on those things once Nintendo manages to get to the bare minimum of what constitutes a modern AAA game.

Seriously though, I had to resort to turning the sound off or very low, because that low heart container sound got so annoying. I never like to heal in this game and push my limit, so I'm almost always beeping.

I doubt this is a Switch problem. This is a game that has been in development for approximately 25 years. I would certainly not assume that this omission is due to a rushed game.

It's simply the pure contempt for the player by the devs.

I think its more Nintendo wanting to show a little distance in performance between wii u and Switch by upping the resolution which would be less apparent if both ran at 720p 30fps with the wii u having occasional frame drops to 20. Later on I think its possible to have a few more graphic options. You could select 480p or 720p output option in the tv settings and the game would render at that resolution rather than at 900p and downscale to 480p or 720p.

25 years?!

they reackon the frame dips are due to loading as they vary between switch and wii u. he analysis DF did showed it happening in different areas.

Your FFXV trolling was funnier. 2/10

Don't you think it's a little arrogant to dismiss a complaint like this as "trolling". Audio Sliders are an industry standard. You will find these options in 99% of games released in the past decade for a reason.

I wasn't being serious. I myself would like BOTW to have a contrast modifier. Actually, Nintendo should just include ENB settings.

I love how a game which has framerate issues in docked mode and appearently missing audio options (I prefer music to put music down a bit as well). Still scores a 98 on meta it really shows that framerate is really a community issue and not a review issue when GTA 5, GTA 4 and other games like Bayonetta on PS3 score 90+ easily. Anyway it might be patched in or not.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Well, that's a weird omission to the game.

I wanted to turn down the sound effects (as the footsteps are incredibly annoying, just like they are in many Japanese games), and found that it cannot be done on the Wii U version either. It's really pretty sucky. The footsteps drive me insane.
