Forums - Nintendo - So apparently BOTW has no audio options

I mean I know that options and choice are the things that consoles hate the most but this is getting ridiculous.

No way to turn off or even turn down the music, no way to turn down voices. The only chance is to turn off every single sound via the home menu. What the actual fuck.

Switch seems to be a bit rushed both in manufacturing quality and state of firmware and software. Definitely seems like a soft launch and by Christmas console quality and firmware will be much better I'm sure. Games would have had a few patches too.

I was an early adopter of wii u and that had a few issues too that firmware updates sorted or improved. I remember loading time improving and stability and a few features cleaned up.

By the time I get a Switch Zelda may even run consistently at 30fps docked with maybe a resolution downgrade to 720p option.

I doubt this is a Switch problem. This is a game that has been in development for approximately 25 years. I would certainly not assume that this omission is due to a rushed game.

It's simply the pure contempt for the player by the devs.

I think its more Nintendo wanting to show a little distance in performance between wii u and Switch by upping the resolution which would be less apparent if both ran at 720p 30fps with the wii u having occasional frame drops to 20. Later on I think its possible to have a few more graphic options. You could select 480p or 720p output option in the tv settings and the game would render at that resolution rather than at 900p and downscale to 480p or 720p.

25 years?!

You may have misread the title.

I don't see lack of audio options as contempt that seems too strong if that is what you mean and it could be patched in later.

They had 500 years during development to "patch it in". I'm not holding my breath of the wild.

Did that impact on your enjoyment of BOTW?

Pocky Lover Boy!

What the hell.... that's ridiculous. What are Nintendo doing?

Playing completely without sound does, yes. Since I can't turn off just the music I have to turn off everything so I can listen to other stuff. This is the first game ever that I had this problem. Probably because sound options are in every game but Nintendo decided for me that I apparently don't need it.

It might dampen my enjoyment even more than the constant 20fps and blurry visuals. Since this is a nice mindless open world game that is perfect for listening to streams while roaming around.
