Forums - Nintendo - House of the dead 2/3 vs. RE:UC?

I've got RE:UC and it was rather short.  It was fun in co-op, but there isn't much content there and I'm looking for a similar experience.  I had HOTD on the Dreamcast and remember it fondly and played a bit in the arcade but it's been quite a while.  Is HOTD worth picking up or should I just stick to RE:UC and play through a couple more times?

I've got Ghost Squad also and it was fun but, again, over in a flash and I remembered it having a bit more "content" than it actuallly does, lol...

HOTD 2 and 3 aren't crappy remakes. They are the same games and I happen to STILL like them. Now The Omen was a crappy remake. HOTD are more fast paced. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles actually has rehashed a lot of things from HOTD and no that doesn't make it a crappy remake either. I prefer the Umbrella Chronicles because it is longer and has more unlockable content.

House of the dead is awesome, don't listen to Wale. But the genre as a whole is a short experience. HOTD is an arcade game, so you can beat each one in one sitting (though you will probably die alot more than you did in RE:UC). If you want more shooting action HOTD is classic, but it is going to be incredibly short. It's the nature of the genre.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

So off topic which do you prefer 2 or 3?

Thanks... I don't remember how long it is. Yeah, there is a good bit of unlockable content in RE:UC but most of it is single player and I'm looking for co-op shooters or hack-n-slash. Unless I'm missing something in UC, I've gone through the three sections which each have something like three "scenes" in them. Aside from those, am I missing other co-op content? I've unlocked several single player missions...

^there is a way to make the whole game co-op i think has to do with beating one of the missions

You need to beat all the missions, including sub missions, then you can play the sub missions in coop too. The main missions can be played either coop or single and still have this unlocked.
