That no charger will sitting on the kickstand is actually a big oversight by Nintendo. It's one of the big features for it, but now you can only play for a little while before having to stop to charge it? Well, unless you make sure to play it with friends right after charging. Even then, you're not going to be able to marathon a game. They really should have moved the USB port to the top. From what the reviewer says, it seems to be a jack of all trades, but a master of none. I'm sure Nintendo fans will love it, but until it gets a serious price cut, I can see this thing following the same 3DS sales curve it saw a few months after launch.

Do you really think you are gonna be playing with the console while sitting on a kickstand for more than 3 hours regularly? or in the case of Games like 1,2 switch maybe more than 5 hours? Is not like you cant connect it while you are playing it in portable mode easily, because you can, if you think something like that is gonna affect the sales of the console in any even remotely meaningful way you need to think it twice.

Reread the bold.  I highly doubt gamers will ALWAYS be just taking this thing off the charger when trying to show it off to friends and family.

@ 2nd bold

I get it.  Nothing is going to stop this thing from being a Wii-like success.  Even its myriad of small-medium issues in the eyes of non-Nintendo fans.

Of course, because you thinking that not being able to play it on a kickstand for more than 3-5 hours before you have to Switch to either portable or TV mode is a big deal clearly represents the way all non-Nintendof ans are thinking, right? What's next, all non-Nintendo fans think that the console should not fall from the kickstand when you punch it? Or all non Nintendo fans are thinking that isn't worth it because you cannot put the console in vertical? Do all non Nintendo fans think the jack for the headphones should be on the bottom so this way is impossible to connect it while is docked? because that's definitely a very smart point this nonnintendo fan does, but Nintendo fans will definitely think it makes more sense to have it on the top to be able to use it just because they are all dumb.

This review almost perfectly resume what I've been saying about the hardware or the last few months.

Good.

You know, complaining about a review being narrow minded while simultaneously dismissing any criticisms that you don't personally care about is more than a little hypocritical.

OP: Yeah, I think the Switch seems a bit rushed and has quite a few issues. Most of which will hopefully be dealt with in the first year or so. But I really don't ever recommend getting a console at launch.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I dont know why people are so Bad with IGN, theyre not thé only One giving such review, Eurogamer says pretty much thé same ( so im not sûre why thy are put in positive reviews whîle they are mixed about thé hardware )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Some criticism is too ridioculous to not dissmis it, and says more about the people that defending them than the ones questioning them, complaining about the console not being able to be docked vertically or having the jack adaptor on the top instead of the bottom is plain simply stupid

But just because you think they're stupid doesn't mean they are to others.

For example, it not being able to be used horizontally means that anytime I wanted to put it on, or remove it from the dock I would have to pull the dock out of my TV stand.

You're ignoring other peoples opinions and points of view because they don't match yours. That's what being narrow minded is.

IGN's review is pretty fair I think, not like Gamespot's were the reviewer seems to have only played Zelda on it, Zelda being a great game doesnt mean this will be a great console

And you are ignoring that some things just make no sense, period, to put it vertically would kill the way Switch is supposed to work

Use your brains, try to think how to put this vertically without killing the easy and intuitive way in which you dock and undock the console, and try to think how the hell it would be better if the jack adaptor was on the bottom where no one can reach it when is docked.

But no, you consider this legitim complains, as expected, but to question opinions is not something about being narrowminded, is about being able to see the flaws of an opinion, because no, not all opinions are right, that is a simplistic way to think, if I say Ps4 is shit because it cannot be used portably, I'm entitled to my opinion, that doesn't make it right, and certainly anyone that comes to question the validity of what I said is not automatically narrowminded.

You see, you're mistaking being affected by the consequences of a design decision with not understanding a design decision.

I get WHY the Switch is designed the way it is, but that doesn't mean the issue just goes away. It's still there and therefore still worth mentioning. Just like the original Xbox One not being able to be stood up on it's side was worth mentioning.
