Sounds like a good deal. If I had an XB1 I'd look into it.
On topic, I wonder how many of the games will be digital only anyway, and if its most of them, if it will have any actual effect on the used games market.
Does Gamestop need to go? | |||

I buy physical games elsewhere and the only thing I ever bought from them is a stand for wheel and pedals, but I'm not happy they could disappear, as even a crooked competitor is still better than less competition.
Well things move forward and businesses need to adapt. If they don't/can't then they go out of business. It's the way it is and the way it's always been. This is a really cool subscription from Xbox.

in my opinion Sony was the company starting all this on consoles with the free games every month offer. MS just does it even more now but there is really nothing to thank Sony for from Gamestop's side. Maybe Nintendo, they are probably those where pyhsical is still much more common as digital. |
Their shares didn't drop when ps plus was announced. Microsoft has gone much further copying plus, allowing EA access and this new service now.
Plus if used games weren't allowed on ps4/xb1 gamestop could be bust already. They owe Sony a massive thanks.

They should still be around just not as strong or powerful.

Haven't been to Gamestop in ages. Who cares, glad they're going down after that circle of life shit.

They're also responsible for the vast majority of their console hardware and software sales. Yet you go into gamestop and more often than not their employees are biased towards xbox. If gamestop had sense they would reward Nintendo and Sony and push their products as much as possible over xbox. |
You realise PS+ and PSNow were a thing before this, right?
I buy Physical still. This sucks a little but it's the way the industry is heading. More money for the developers, I suppose.

So basically almost everyone thinks Gamestop is horrible and they still exist because of Sony. If it wasn't you I would report you for hating on Sony =p.
Rather Sony/MS/Nintendo buy some of gamestop shops and have their own shops. Would be neat to go to a Playstation shop with retro games/consoles, having some local events going on etc..

Even funnier is how even after "MS moles" like Belluzzo and Elop didn't limit themselves to just favour MS in the relationships of their companies, but they went on totally sinking them, many companies keep on hiring people that actually work more for MS than for them and don't fire them.
I will always be a physical kind of man myself. Lots of the niche games i play hold their value due to low distribution.
