 Well, it's not as bad as putting away over a billion dollars for repair cost that would otherwise be avoided entirely.

 

Also, I have a pretty good feeling that a lot of that money went to actually MAKING the game multi in the first place.

Since the RROD was du to "console release" rushing and since we know the 6.5M lead is partially du to this rushing,

 For me, it is quite well played by MS.

A 33% failure should have costed to LOST the console war BUT because of the 1 billion paid, they are making some money + they are still 2nd with a 6M lead !

Why, does that guarantee them to NOT lose this console war? Or simply stay on top for a couple of years?

I never said that guarantee them a NOT lose the console war

I just say they are still resisting in the console war and they sold a lot of console EVEN when the failure rate was still very high !!

 Although it does put them in a huge disadvantage with their own customers, not to mention very poor PR. And all of it could be avioded if they only took just a few months off to redesign the whole cooling system.
