This is a great thread, thanks for the impressions! I'm glad you liked it. It seems like a good system and I'm happy to hear that the screen looks good and that ARMS is good.

You're impressions seem to confirm my concern that the pro controller is something I'm going to need.

After how many times I've had to hear people on here talk about how revolutionary HD rumble is (without having actually used it), it is both disappointing and hilarious to hear that it's not much of a change from regular rumble.

I'm sure Zelda was an earlier build, so I would imagine that performance will be better in the final game.

Overall, I'm still not convinced that I need it...but once it gets a few more games I'm looking for, and I can get it for less money, I can see myself picking one up.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Don't go so fast, for what he says chances are the only experience he had with the HD rumble was with the milking game, Zelda doesn't use it, he though he felt something, but it was just normal rumble so of course he felt it like normal rumble. Also, quite the hyperbole there, I have seen no one claiming it is a revolution, but an evolution.

Great thread man, can you tell me if the splatoon in tv mode was at 720p or 1080p and 30 or 60 fps ?

Yeah, what I've seen of Botw on Switch is that there is very noticeable drops in framerate. Sadly, I don't think that's going to change. Possibly in a future update or something...hopefully. But that's cool you got to try it out! 3 more weeks!

True, but he still played a game that used it and didn't notice anything significant. Who knows, maybe it is the next big thing. But I would imagine it would have been immediatley apparent that it was something different when he used it.

Looked like 1080p to me, and it was definitely 60FPS.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Do you also think Splatoon will remain at 720p on TV mode just because it was shown like that in the Switch event? If zelda has almost no dip in hanheld mode I expect the same in TV mode in the final version of the game, that was a demo.

Pretty much the definition of a quality thread but one thing, You didn't felt anything special for the rumble in Zelda simply because Zelda does not use the HD rumble, and from the 2 minigames you played on 1,2 Switch, I think only the Milking one use it so chances are that milking was your only experience with the HD rumble.

Makes sense.

The HD rumble is a feature I was curious about, but none of the games I played seemed to really take advantage of it fully, so I don't have any concrete impressions of it right now.

seems like everyone has the same reaction with ARMS.

You are the only one saying things such as "could be the next big thing", it almost look like you are the one with too much expectation. But the thing is, I doubt a single minigame shows you the whole potential of the feature and, in any case, HD rumble is not suposed to be a gamechanger, is supposed to be a more advanced rumble which is something cool.
