I guess they've seen Battlefield 1 has done very good by doing a change of setting. Then again, they'll do alright regardless of going for the roots, just because it's Call of Duty.

Just like Infinite Warfare? I guess Sledgehammer and Treyarch are the top dogs now for COD games.
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Just Treyarch. AW was absolutely terrible.

Hopefully it's in-line with Call of Duty 1, 2 and World at War.

How about start with destructible environments. Like how rainbow 6 does it. That would add an amazing dynamic especially for SnD. In future make some bigger maps with vehicles. In the end they really should be making a game with a mixture of big maps that play like battlefield and smaller maps that play like rainbow 6. But that would require effort and real innovation. They'll probably just milk the formula for another 10 years. |
Adding destrucitble environments to a game that's so heavily scripted as Call of Duty is a very hard task. There's so much that could go wrong. Obviously that's no problem in multiplayer.

If they or anyone in this industry were smart, they would show it from the German side, playing as a Wehrmacht soldier. So many possibilities.

Treyarch is a pretty bad developer. Their recent campaigns (Black Ops 2 and 3) are absolutely terrible. Advanced Warfare was waaaaay better (and Ghosts too).
No idea about multiplayer though, which I honestly don't give a fuck about.
Regardless of if they go back to their roots, in gameplay or setting. I think the last few CoDs (even though Black Ops 3 was a great game in my opinion, just ruined with stupid extra guns and melle weapons in the boxes), haven't helped to what people want in the series and many gamers have already left and won't be coming back.
I'm pretty sure, all Dice have to do is announce the next Battlefield game will be Battlefield 1944 and it'll take over from CoD's millions.
Hmm, pie.
They'll never take COD back into it's roots until they get rid of the pay to win care packages. Until they get microtransactions off of COD entirely, it will still be another gimmicky COD.
