Forums - Nintendo - What if Switch sells out completely?

It seems pré orders are not really high in Europe, you can still pre order Switch almost everywhere and they éven cut thé prices everywhere in France to help it

I wonder if Europe is sort of like Nintendo's Achilles heel.  Not as bad as the Xbox in Japan, but the one major region where Nintendo hardware sales are rather unreliable.

If it sells out it just proves that Nintendo was intentionally lowballing.

No, there are games that sell better in Europe than the US, like Tomodachi Life, Professor Layton and Yokai Watch.

It's just that a lot of Europeans have terrible taste in sports and video games: if it doesn't have Fifa it won't sell gangbusters. ;)

Yeah, I honesty don't know how to gauge the European market, and I wonder how diverse gaming preferences are amongst the different countries.

They better not pull the artificial scarcity tactic here, or it will be bad in the long run :/

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

I dont think they will sell 2 million in one month. I think 1.2 million is more likely

The first Nintendo Switch stock is not that much less than the PS4's initial stock and the PS4 as well as the Wii U were both released during the holiday season giving them a much a higher demand at launch. So I don't know how 2 million is a low number, I mean maybe it is Nintendo being safe but definitely not low.

Gamespot sold through all of their 500k stock with 250k on a waiting list so it' not like there isn't enough people buying the Switch to state the only reason it's becoming sold is because there is so little stock, the fact is people are a lot of people buying this thing, whether you choose to believe it or not.

They are shipping 2 million units within the first month. Even WiiU managed to sell around that number. It will sell out. The test is how it does in the following months. Mainly June and beyond

There was a thread about Nintendo saying that are shipping more.

Pocky Lover Boy!

It will likely sell out, so Nintendo is burning early adopter ripoff money. But due to the lack of games and the high price, people will loose interest quickly and it will become another Wii-U.
